"Going forward, I will never paywall/time-lock any downloads of book PDFs to upgraded user accounts (with the exception of large collections/archives such as the WF grand library, which I don't expect to gain any copyright attention anyway)."

Um, isn't this exactly what WF just did? I now have to pay in order to access the books.

You've been registered since 2023... all you had to do to access the library is make 1 (one [a single]) post in any of the occult sections.

I guess you paid $3.99 to skip having to read the huge notice in the library section. Thank you for your support.

Being a Benefactor gives you access to the Library, yes. And it's great that you chose to support WF financially, but if you read the Rules you'll see that you don't need to pay for this. Benefactor is just one of the ways mentioned in the Rules and relevant threads that open the Books section

I have paid zero dollars american (not sure what that converts to in other currencies) and I have full access to the library. At first I didn't like making the library contingent on posting because I thought it would encourage shitposting and me-too-ing but despite the forced nature of it the interactions are quality and worth the time. Consider being part of the community that provides this information to you.

I’m not mad about the site needing money. I get it and I'm perfectly happy paying the $3.99.

What I’m commenting about is the original announcement saying you weren’t going to paywall the library, and then doing exactly that without editing the post.

Just edit the original post and be honest. That’s it. Don’t say one thing and do another.

The library is not paywalled.
