Patrick Harpur's 'The Secret Tradition of the Soul' is a book I feel it should be read by all occultists, and magicians, including neopagans, and anyone who works in Mythic Space. This book ideally should be read along with Harpur's book 'Daimonic Reality,' and Karen Armstrong's excellent 'A Short History of Myth'and can go a long way in helping us all create a more ecumenical approach, and lateral connections with other spiritual traditions ,as a well as a sort , of inter-mythic tolerance for the mythic framework used by other occuiltsits from other cultures.
We never see The Mystery directly any more than a Windows user is coding their computer's OS when using Office.
If we begin separating the myths and stories that form the UI/UX of Magic, the interface , seeing them apart from often highly local tribal cultural contexts where they arise, we can better identify the diplomatic language to communicate with the daimons, and the rituals that attract their attention.
