I remember the first time I really tried astral projection. It wasn’t something I’d ever thought much about before, but one night I decided to give it a shot. The first thing I did was find a quiet room where I wouldn’t be disturbed, a place where I felt totally at ease. I lay down on my bed, turned off the lights, and just started focusing on my breathing. I didn’t try to rush it, just slow, deep breaths in and out. It was all about letting go of everything that could distract me, my thoughts, the sounds outside, even the weight of my own body.
It felt strange at first, almost like my body was too heavy, like I was trapped inside it. But then, slowly, I could feel that weight lifting. It wasn’t a sudden thing, but I could tell something was changing. I began imagining a rope in front of me, one I could climb up, or a light pulling me up, even though it wasn’t real. I didn’t force it, I didn’t try too hard, I just kept focusing on the feeling of floating and being free. Every time I felt myself getting too caught up in the effort or doubt, I’d let go and start over.
It took me a while to really get the hang of it. Sometimes I’d get close but then snap back into my body with a jolt, as if I’d fallen asleep too suddenly. But the more I practiced, the more I started to understand the feeling, the sensations that told me I was close to something happening. It wasn’t perfect at first, but eventually, I had a few moments where I felt my consciousness separate from my physical body, where I was aware of floating above it. It’s hard to explain, but it felt like I was in two places at once. It’s a weird but incredible experience.
