Hi! Im a newbie in all of the occult and mystical arts and I developed an interest in Shamanism and the white magics, could you recomend ways and what to read to learn about all of this? And if you are a shaman yourself, maybe some experiences and tips for me? Thank you!

First, you can be of any race and culture and not limited to any specific cultural background. If anyone says otherwise, they are wrong. Period.

Second, do not try to appropriate(claim training or skills specific to a living, cultural practice or work) a community, culture or ethnic practice. An example would be claiming to practice the Midewiwin Medicine without ever living as a Mide.

Third, as much as I dislike the term Shaman, it would be a good idea to pick up some texts on Core Shamanism. Overall, they are not horrible in my opinion. Now, Shamans focus primarily on the spiritual in most cases, tracing ailments physically and spiritually to the spiritual realm. Much of the same is attributed also to the North American Tribal Medicine except the Tribes also instituted Tribal Ceremony for all to participate whereas most of the Siberian and Eastern Shaman were solitary or in pairs. I state this just so you can be aware of the differences.

as an author. His work is dated but still applicable.
I recommend Evelyn Rysdyk as an author. She is easy to read and simple to apply. The Norse/Heathen texts by Rysdyk are junk though.
Do not read Jim Pathfinder Ewing, Sandra Ingerman or anything from Llewellyn Publishing with the word Shamanism as a suffix to words like Crystal or Reiki as a prefix. Garbage books are prevalent.

The Medicine path is mostly solitary. You will need to focus on connecting to the land, the elements and the spirits who dwell in and within everything. If there is a drumming circle in your area, check them out. You may find someone who can share their experiences and share as well as advise. Take most of Youtube with a grain of salt.

It is critical to understand that what you are doing, as a Shaman, is working with the forces and levels of reality that aren't perceptible, logical, tangible, or describable, in short most of reality. These strange and real realms are what inspiration is drawn from that makes the colorful traditions and cultures of the Shamans, you don't have to be a part of any tribe or culture to access this realm, it was accessed by open-minded psychonauts like yourself who had no idea what they were doing. You need to train yourself not just to pick up on these levels of reality, but to also be able to comprehend them, because they're nothing like the "predictable" reality that you live in day-to-day.

It's very likely you're as brain-rotted as the rest of us in this age, so your attention & focus should be your first blade to hone. For your own safety, don't try to travel anywhere outside your body until you can 100% control your emotional responses and maintain control over your focus, otherwise you may die. Even when there was no iphones or television, people needed to actively refine their abilities of focus and comprehension, we're no different, we just have our work cut out for us in this era. The only way to really hone your focus is to sit in zazen. You need to let go of your mind, body, and thoughts in order to awaken the senses behind all of those, to access your true form. First you need to get in touch with your senses, then you need to awaken the more subtle senses, you need to learn how to stir before you break out of the egg.

Another tip is to understand that likely, you know nothing. Not just spiritually, but all mundane knowledge is just a lower echo of a much more higher, incomprehensible truth. It's important to stay humble, power is like cocaine on the gums of the ego, it'll drive you crazy if you get successful with your practices and are self-motivated. Power and control can also be very isolating, you become a fish that can swim outside of the ocean, where all the other fish you know are still trapped by the ocean's currents. If you cannot handle this kind of lonliness, turn back.

Good luck and safe travels.
