Some common sense about spells, rituals and ceremonies that I think is time which needs to be posted and SHOULD be pinned to this forum (and most likely won’t be since I am not a moderator).
Folks, I realize this is a forums on the discussion and practice of magic, and lately it seems to be that most of the posts tend to lean heavily towards the practical side of things. These recent postings appear to suggest using the supernatural heavily in one’s practice. Okay, I’m all for keeping an open mind because one never knows what door to alternate universes may open or what crazy spirit may come along to grant someone’s goofy request but realize something people, you STILL have to work for whatever it is you wish for.
Many of you have this absurd notion that all you have to do is chant the name of a spirit while holding its seal in your hands and Presto! Like magic the imp will appear. Obviously you have failed to understand that there is work to be done PRIOR to doing that sort of work. It’s called “due diligence” or paying your dues which is what long time folks who specialize in this sort of work have to do in the first place.
Yes, some of us picked up a grimoire and had sheer dumb luck the first time we tried it. (Goody for us.) That simply means fumbled our way through the bloody thing and were lucky we didn’t come out with spirits ass screwing us as in some scene in National Lampoon’s Animal House. Seriously! I was scared out of my wits doing this the first time! There was no bravado involved and I was well prepared for my first attempt.
Still, we somehow managed and are stronger for it but all that means is we had raw talent not unlike the kid you know who picked up a guitar for the first time ever and played something that blew you away. He had sheer, raw talent and an ear for it. Or the girl who takes to gymnastics like a monkey in the forest with nary a second thought. The rest of us marvel and have to fight, sweat and WORK for every step forward in progress we make in those fields. Many of you will have to do so in sorcery and magic as well. STOP trying to find (or worse) make short cuts. Take your time and learn to do things the right way - the first time around.
Then you have to actually DO work in your mundane, non-occult life to help make what you want happen. Hello genius? Sorcery isn’t about waving the wand, tapping your magic talisman and talking to the spirits then going to play video games, while expecting that $$$$ windfall. Uh-unh. I wish it were that easy. You have to go out and make the road for that moolah to come to you in the first place. This means 'work' - a career, job, labor, efforts, sweat-equity - call it what you will, you have to put in to earn it. Even if it's standing by the road holding a sign asking for donations, you still have to do something to give the spirits help so they have an outlet in which to provide you with the money. It's that simple. Spirits do not make it appear out of nothingness.
I know a guy who started a roofing contracting business with nothing but a pickup truck and some old used tools. He made a pact with a specific business spirit. The man worked his roofing business properly, daily, as any contractor should. Within 7 - yes SEVEN years, in New England, he was a millionaire. This is how medieval men bargained with spirits at crossroads for wealth and fame. You must have a skill or talent for the spirit to work with. Something. Give the spirit something to work with and it WILL help you work it.
IF however you’re unemployed and living on your parent’s couch, do you honestly believe just by summoning Bune he is going to fix your financial future? If so you’re a moron. Yup and I have a bridge to sell you. (It’s a nice bridge too.) Bune, like the rest of the 72 is an ancient being who is not here at your beck and call. He is a spirit who serves the House of Lucifer and he’s not your personal bank vault. When you summon Bune for financial assistance, it should be noted that you better have your ducks in a row ahead of time or else you’ll just piss him off and he will simple make things worse for you regardless of what you threaten him with or shout at him in Hebrew.
If you’re diabetic or you have some other disease, you cannot expect a spirit, even one of the legendary 72, to cure you. Why? Well first off what are YOU doing mundanely about it? Have you changed your lifestyle? Have you changed your dietary habits? How about your exercise regimen? If you have not done at least these two things for say six months and made some progress on your own, how can you expect a spirit to merely cure you? Or rather WHY should Buer do so in the first place? Because you’re just going to let the symptom return all due to the fact you have refused to change yourself and the disease will return. Thus the spirit will not be pleased. Last time I asked Buer about cleansing someone of diabetes he said, “Let them live for a year and a day as their physician demands and then we shall talk but not until then!” I can’t blame him for that attitude. I feel the same way about love relationships. Why bring someone back to you so what? You can have your revenge? Piss on that nonsense! That’s not love, that’s petty revenge. You had them the first time and you allowed them to slip away. It's time for you to grow up, maturely deal with it and move on with your life. Stop with the teenage drama and "There'll never be another" BS. Everyone's tired of hearing it.
Many of you are looking for ways on how to summon spirits on this site and there are tutorials that teach you how. Still, you’re wandering about lost like a fart in a hailstorm as anyone can plainly see this from the postings you present. The questions are absurd which range from comic book metaphysics to Dr WHO physics and I’m like, you folks need to pull your heads out of the fantasy realm and give that silliness a rest for a while and actually go study magic - real magic. The kind the ancient’s practiced prior to the 1800's when lodges began popping up, mashing up systems and mixing everything with Theosophy.
Lately some of you are interested in Frater RO’s working through the seven spheres which is based on Trimethius’ method DSIC (Drawing Spirits Into Crystals) and it is a tried and true method that untold numbers of sorcerers have used for centuries. This method does not require much in the way of working tools nor much in the way of prep time so if you wish to actually practice something serious, here is a complete system you can go for the jugular and get to the juice if you will. No bullshit to it.
Sorcery, magic, JuJu - it’s all great stuff added to this cauldron of life we all share with one another and it can give each of us a heads up or step ahead of the competition whether by ordinary, everyday or even the lackluster coincidence means and often that’s how these things tend to work out for us. Why? Well When you start to do JuJu regularly and you get the attention of your ancestors, they start to work in the background for you manipulating things to make them happen as if by coincidence.
A lot of occultists get pissy about this and want their lives to be full of magic and yet it IS! They instead want ‘Hollywood Magic’ which is silly because who needs all that flash and bang to live a normal life? Hollywood Magic is the wish of children and immature dreamers, not mature adults who want their dreams and desires to be rewarded.
Try and remember, ours is a world of SUBTLE magic NOT the world of Harry Potter, all right? Yes I can hear you saying, “Yeah, yeah, Moloch, I already know this shit, so why are you repeating yourself like a broken record?” Because it NEEDS to be repeated! There are too many people pretending Wizard Forums is a D&D Magic site instead of an actual occult site.
I also see a lot of you posting complaints about this book's methodology, that guy’s system, this particular spell from this website, that ceremony’s ineffectiveness and so on so really, is the issue at fault with the various procedures and techniques you’re trying out? Or perhaps lack of capability and OBVIOUS laziness on your part? Truth is many of you are working far beyond your own pay grade. You’re in way over your fool head but you’re too darn stubborn to see the issue mainly because you’re too close and “Hey now, Moloch, the problem CAN’T BE ME!” Uh-unh. Sure. Sorry to say it IS you.
Yes I enjoy bursting ego bubbles because it took me a long time to realize this concept due to my own thick headedness, folks. Oh yes, my own fat headed ego has gotten in the way at times and it has been one helluva obstacle to overcome! However, when I have acknowledged it, then set my ego aside and paid my dues, the JuJu finally worked. (Hello? Ground Control to Major Tom? Are you getting this transmission here? Because it’s an important one!) If you want your JuJu to get better, learn to set aside your ego and pay your dues the right way. Do things as they’re supposed to be done. Stop trying to take shortcuts with spirits when you have not proven you can summon money via a candle spell. Hell, most of you can’t even summon a bloody book on magic with any simple spell! You silly oafs have to beg for free PDF’s and you call yourselves wizards and magicians? LoL Pfffft Right!!
I realize this rant may just honk you off and that’s good because I meant for it to do just that. Why? Often people pay more attention to someone when they’re saying something they don’t care to hear more so than when it’s something they already know or tend to agree with. I’m also hoping some of this STICKS in your mind so some seeds are planted as well. You need to get off your duffs and stop trying to prove you’re some Gandalf or Morgana when you haven’t proven (especially to yourself!) that you can summon something simple and mundane with simple magic before you go off running to learn Enochian or Planetary spirits let alone the legendary 72 of the Goetia. Seriously get a clue and go clean your room.
