[Archive] [Euoi] A ritual to Invoke Godforms

A thread that was copied from the original Wizard Forums.
I recently posted a spell that invokes the power of GodForms through sigil magic. This ritual is similar, but is much more involved with the godform. This really aligns you with their power.

Like in sigil magic, you'll need a sigil of the Godform. This can be made in any number of ways, such as playing connect the dots with their name upon the rose cross lamen.
You'll also need an Altar, which you shall consecrate in whatever way you feel comfortable. On the altar, place an incense burner. For this rite, you can choose any kind of incense you prefer, wether it be stick, resin, powder, or cone. The most important thing is the scent. A traditional "one-size-fits-all" is Frankincense. But if you know of other scents, you should make an effort to procure that incense for the deity (E.g. Dragon'sBlood for Set-Typhon, Storax for Hermes, Cedar for Marduk). Place also on the altar a chalice (this can be simple cup consecrated for magical purposes) filled with wine or another stimulant, an athame (the magic dagger), and the sigil. The whole set up should be built around an image of the Deity set upon the altar. The image can be a statue or a picture printed from the internet and framed. You may choose to decorate the temple and altar according to the nature of the deity, such as pinecones and ivy for Dionysus, Roses for Aphrodite, etc.
The altar should be covered in a cloth, colored to the nature of the deity. Perhaps, blue for Zeus (via his connection with Jupiter) or red for Set-Typhon.

After the altar and tools have been set in their places, the actual ritual can begin.

Begin by lighting the incense, saying:
I light this incense for the honor and glory of the Wonderful and Mighty (Name of Godform).

Use the athame to draw the sigil of the god in the air above the Altar. See each line, curve, or angle glowing in a color corresponding to the deity. See it pulsing, seeing it as an open gate to the God. Visualize it's pulsing energy spread through the room of the temple. Say:
I invite and invoke thee, N, Into my temple!

Sit before the altar, breathe in a little of the incense. Hold the sigil in your hand and gaze into it. Let your mind become receptive. Begin to chant the name of the deity like a mantra. This should be done until you the sigil has activated.
Continue:
I invoke thee, N! I invoke thee N! I invoke thee N!
I call to thee, Powerful Lord
Come to me here and answer unto my prayers
Come in thy glory and give an ear to my pleas of intervention
I call upon thee N, most Powerful!
Amoun auantau Laimoutau Riptou Mantaui imantou lantou laptoumi ancho' mach araptoumi
Hither to me, O N! Come to me at this very hour and do not shun my prayers! Hither to me O N, be attentive to me because He wishes and commands this!
ACHCHO'R ACHCHO'R ACHACHACH PTOUMI CHACHCHO' CHARACHO'CH CHAPTOUME' CHO'RACHARACHO'CH APTOUMI ME'CHO'CHAPTOU CHARACHPTOU CHACHCHO' CHARACHO' PTENACHO'CHEU

Close your eyes, visualizing the sigil of the god in your mind. Focus on other symbols of the god, and upon any pictorial representations that you can see perfectly in your mind. Breathe in incense to smell the god. Try to visualize places where the god might be found (The wild forests for Pan, the desert for Set-Typhon). You should visualize all of this as if you're seeing this through a window. The window should be the sigil. Begin to imagine to hear sounds the god might be surrounded by (Panpipes for Pan, the howl of the desert wind for Seth). Imagine tastes the god may tastes (the taste, perhaps, of the wind that has blown across the leaves for Pan). Finally imagine feeling of touch. Imagine yourself to walk through the sigil, let it all flood over you. Let each sense overcome you. Then begin to feel each sense with each other. Eventually, you will feel all five senses at once. Call out to the god. This can be as simple as calling their name, or their orphic hymn, perhaps even a chant traditionally associated with them (E.g. IO EUOI/EVOHE for Dionysus). Feel them coming to you. You may set up a two way communication with the god in this way. Even if this doesn't happen, still make your requests or prayers at this point. When you have ceased communication, take a piece of each sense with you. Do this by "inhaling" each piece of sense into your being. Walk out through the sigil. Breathe nice and slow, open your eyes slowly.

Take a moment to gather your wits. Get up.
Raise the chalice, say:
I drink in the honor of N, a most glorious god!
Drain the chalice. Thank the deity for listening to your prayers. If any incense is left, let it burn down as an offering and go about your business.
