Got flu myself now and trying to get it away as fast as possible. So post in this thread about how to cure a cold or flu.

My own recipe is boiled water and enough of honey. Also gives you the energy you need for the day and is great for any cold or flu. If you get ginger honey it is even better. Another good remedy is ginger that you cook for 20min and then you drink it.

I always have one jar of ginger honey, and one jar of garlic honey at home, and whenever I feel a slight itch in my throat and a fever brewing, I take one of them (I prefer garlic honey).

I also gargle hot water/salt water.

These are mainly for throat/nose ailments. Once you have a full blown fever, I don't think they help that much, and since flu is a virus, nothing will, really. So I just power through.

Something that can help a bit when you have a bad throat, camelina sativa oil. Drink it a bit from the bottle or 2 large spoons worth. It coats the throat nicely. Once you take it, don't drink anything else for a while, let it remain there. It has many other benefits, it's great for the intestines.

Me too. I put whole cloves of garlic in some local sourced honey for 2 months or longer and it is great for just about any flu/cold type of ailment. I've also been known to put some whole cayenne or other hot peppers in it which really helps with congestion.

Tonics like the above (or however you want to classify them) are good for when you feel it coming on, but once it's full-blown sickness, the only solution is time. You can cultivate time and use it as free meditation time by going into hibernation mode though, it makes the time count more if you're at a low level of activity. Y'gotta numb yourself until you're half-dead, put on a youtube playlist or a show you are only half interested in so you don't have to pay attention to it and just go into a coma for a few days. Trust me, it heals you faster.

I’ll share my recipe for winter herbal tea.

nettle, you can put a shitton of it cause it's tasteless, it helps the body with allergies and most winter diseases are either caused or reinforced by small allergies the body usually fight with you not even noticing. In winter your body is under much pressure, so covering the allergy front always helps recovery a lot.

Lavender, this is really good for flu and common cold, but it’s really strong tastewise. Herbal tea isn’t supposed to be enjoyable but merely drinkable. Lavender is really good for flu but don’t put too much because it can quickly become undrinkable.

Thyme, it contains thymol, it is always helpful for ENT diseases.

Rosemary, same thing has thyme, but I can’t remember the substance in there.

Apple cut in small pieces, it something I’ve noticed people in china do for winter, I haven’t understood why but … Why not, you probably have some apples somewhere.

Mint, good for allergies, and lungs, but mostly it helps the tea to be edible.

Put it to boil with a ton of water in a large pot for one hour, covered is better.
You can add honey, but I’ve always heard you should wait for the tea to be cold to do so, otherwise you’ll be ruining the good stuff in it.

Random things you can add are echinacea and ginger

Source : trust me bro.
