I'm reading and of course collecting books on vampiric practice, so I thought that it deserves threat of its own.

What I want to pull here is to get some sort of list of vampirism related books and their real value for practice. Among other things for my further study and as additions to my collection, electronic and if worth it, physical colies too.

So what I've read so far...

Violet Throne
Practicaly only theory and not fully safe book to read from my experience. Does include extremely small dose of practice. I recall xeper mantra and some spell in two versions mirroring each other without any explanation. I find this book oseful only in refreshing knowledge and perhaps in gaining some inspiration, but there it ends. I might actually get rid of this one...

Vapire's way to pyschic defense
This one is good. If I were to recommend, this feels like excellent book to be the first one aspiring Vampire should read and practice. Nice small step on a long way. This one serves me so well, that I bought physical copy to reward Author for excellent work.

M.T.H.O.S.
Strange book, I dislike the sigils in it, the overal energy is not fiendly to me. The rituals of becoming vamp by being posessed by a demon doesn't feel right to me, but preparatory works before the rite, meditation, astral travel, purifications, can be used well. Worth reading and at least some practices are quite useful.

Liber Hirudo
Still reading this one, but feeling positive about it. Half of the stuff I won't practice, the rest I have to adapt for my use. There are things in this book I would never do, but that's alright. This really is vampiric book and includes a lot of rites, some feel just right, some do not. A book that requires you to already have yourself established and idealy having some sense of your own path already.

Sanguinomicon
Read this one, nice read but found the practices... well, they work, but not really that much. Book is more for enjoyment than for actual work...

---
I hope I'm not only person practicing vampirism and vampire related magic rituals. I hope there are others and that they can recommend me more books that I can add to my collection and to-read list. So please, go ahead and gie me your recommendations on more vampiric books.

Here I am!
Then, I have read all the books you proposed and I agree almost word for word with what you said, after your advice on MTHOS I proceeded to read it, a copy had just been uploaded here on the forum and I must say that, at least in my opinion, it is good only as preparatory work

If you like Kreiter's work, you could implement the one about Servitors, for use in the vampiric field, energy manipulation etc.

Other good books on Vampyrism:
Don Webb - Energy of the vampyre
Michelle Belanger - Vampire Codex (avoid theory, just exercises)
Frater Nyarlathotep - Ardeth

There are also many others but they are often very Edgy, and in my opinion, very little functional as they aim more at the sensational rather than the practical.

When you say Energy of the vampyre, I assume you mean the book Energy Magick of the Vampyre. I've read that one, though not sure if I've read it to the end.

However I must say that it is not that bad bok. The practical side is good and the rituals will definitely get you somewhere, or at least move you forward, if nothing else. To be honest, there are two things that I dislike about Webb's book. First is that each month is work with a deity of different pantheon and different concept of magic. This dance of paradigm specific for Chaos Magic is not for me. The second is that in the introduction he says his history and zero interest in vampirism until he found out that he is marked as master in vampirism (What?) and asked to write a book about it. I believe that this is well reflected through the book as lack of personal passion for the subject he writes about.

Ardeth I didn't hear about, but it is available so I added it to my to-read list. I have mistrust in Belanger but upon your recommendation I'll surely read it as well. Thanks!

Now I'm reading Darker Teachings of the Immortals, quite different, no practice, it's a compilation of texts to think about. I would say that it is occult support book.

Yep, I meant that one, I always forget about the correct name 😅.. A bad sign that I'm getting old!

Yes, but it helps you ask yourself the right questions, it doesn't have many exercises inside, I think it's more focused on a psychological vision rather than an energetic one.

To be honest I found it very similar, as a final goal I mean, to his other book: How to become a modern magus.
It helps you to get into the mindset, creating a routine, meditate every day, to be more present in the moment ecc.

Bellager look just the exercises, ignore the theory, is full of her own ideas and dogmas of her movement.

Ardeth I should have a pdf somewhere, I'll search it.

Good observation. I agree.
