I practiced both the law of attraction and the law of assumption for a couple of years and, to sum things up in a way that avoids disrespecting any possible believers on them here, let's just say my results have fallen short of my expectations.

I thought about just giving up on the supernatural and going back to my modest agnosticism, but since I most definitely don't believe in hell, karma or any type of supernatural justice or all-good masterplan, I might as well up the ante and go full black magic before that.

I'm currently very excited about the left hand path. The idea of letting go of all externally imposed limitations to fully pursue your own ideals and goals sounds very appealing to my current self. As a healthy human being, capable of empathy, I still have some internal boundaries, dictated by my own inner compass, but I'm more than willing to ditch all arbitrary societal morals of the current year, as well as all pleasant-sounding vain platitudes, if it means I get what I want (which, right now, is very modest in my own assessment).

I'm starting small though, since, being honest, I'd like to see some convincing results before spending hundreds of dollars in ritual paraphernalia.

Well, if you're willing to accept me, I hope to learn a lot here and eventually be of help to others people as well.

Welcome. You won’t need to spend any money (maybe like $5) to see some modest results. Have a look at the Occult Tutorials section. It has a great many useful rituals you can follow. They won’t necessarily be LHP or demonic, but there are workings there you can follow that will work and will give you the confidence you need to pursue other things within the occult.

I will say the quiet part out loud, a lot of metaphysical tropes are bullshit, at least in part. Especially those of the "just manifest, man" (law of attraction) variety. My perspective on manifestation is that it must be universally true to be true at all, and always will pose the question to anyone that wants to discuss manifestation without actually knowing what the F they're talking about, "Do children across the globe starve because they haven't manifested food hard enough?" I've yet to hear anyone say, "Yes."

I think manifestation can be real, but most people hear it and think the word is a complete doctrine in and of itself. I think a great many people hear ear-tickling terminology like "law of assumption" and assume that it is a law. Well, it isn't. It doesn't govern anyone or anything except those who adhere to it while they're adhering to it.

Long story short, welcome! There's more to this magickal and metaphysical bullshit than "live, laugh, love" and "abundance" (perhaps the blackest and most ensnaring, enslaving ideologies today.) Dig in, get dark, and have fun. Welcome aboard.
