Hello! Just wanted to jump in and say hi. I'm sort of a non-supernaturalist druid with academic leanings for the history of witchcraft, medieval scribal culuture and Solomonic magic. I joined after seeing some discussion on the Summa Sacre Magice, which is an incredible work. I'm currently researching the origins of the manuscripts of Books of Spirits, which is sort of the parent of various demonic lists given in later works like the Ars Goetia.

Huge thanks to everyone who has posted reviews of various books in the library section. It's honestly pretty awesome.

All that said, I have a deep love for various forms of nature worship and modern + ancient witchcraft. I always dig discusion of magical practice, especially medieval practice. And demonology. Love me some demonology.

Much respect to all of you!

Hey, welcome! I'm pretty new myself but it's nice to have you with us. I'm curious, how does being agnostic and a druid/nature worshipper work for you? Is it that you simply do not buy into the concept of God as the Abrahamics present it, or is it something else? Pardon me if I'm accidentally overstepping any boundaries of yours, I'm not beating my shield with a spear or anything - I'm just really curious

No problem! No boundaries overstepped there, I like the question. I guess that for me, I don't feel required to believe nature is supernatural in order to worship it, nor for nature to have any traditional notion of godhood attached to it for it to be divine.

If anything I share the egyptian sensibility that the sun is "god" and acknowledge that plants literally transmute its energy as the basis for all lifegiving. Which isn't to say I believe I will travel west across the nile when I die, or even exist spiritually at all; but do feel something special knowing I've been temporarily lent the light.

I see! This view of divinity is actually much wiser than most practitioners I have spoken to. I share it a little too, though in my case there's a wider lattice that is under consideration as I am prone to ecstatic experiences, to put it simply (this doesn't make my belief better than yours, simply different). I always thought it was silly that people thought divinity is supernatural... God is also his creation, to use the generic terms, no? Hah, anyhow, I'm preaching to the choir.

I also share the Egyptian view of things, funnily enough. That is, in fact, how my entire spiritual path started! It is nice to see someone that I have such things in common with. Welcome, again, and God (the Light that is in all that there is) bless you!
