Recently, two books have been shared on this forum by Jason Newcomb. The most recent of these, The Book of Magick Power, is introduced with, "Do what thou wilt..." This, of course, indicates but one thing regarding his foundations in regards to the material(s) at hand.

However, there is another small volume by him that stands out like nipples on a nun. To wit, "How the Teachings of Jesus Could Change America".

No, I'm not joking. And yes, it most certainly is the same author. The book is listed in his bibliography at the beginning of TBOMP. Published by Light a Candle Books, no less. And it is as Christian as Christian can get.

Now, I've been at this whole occult studies thing for over 30 years. Been exposed to a whole lot of Thelemic literature and viewpoints. But what I just read excepts of has most certainly never been among them. Not even close.

I will gladly share the PDF if given the go-ahead by @HoldAll.

Does anyone have any kind of responsia here that might shed some light on this incongruity? Because, to quote a Great man, "I am perplexed."

"The Book of Magic Power" was published in 2007, "How the Teachins of Jesus Could Save America" came out in 2008. All of his other books shared here, e.g. "Sexual Sorcery", were published before that date (with the exception of "The Black Pullet" which came out in 2019). Perhaps the author got religion back then and decided to foist his newfound spiritual views on an entire nation with the zeal of a recent convert? As far as I can see from the amazon page, the Jesus book is more about political culture than religion and not about occult subjects at all. Anyone can dowload it from annas-archive.org and see for themselves but as far as I'm concerned, it's off-topic.

Newcomb is one of the unsung heroes of modern occult literature. All of his work is focused on getting the reader to understand that there is a potential for dynamic change in life that only occurs when you step outside of your ordinary thought routines. Thelma, Enochian, Goetia, folk Jesus, all aim to give a person a means by which to improve life through spiritual activity. His approach has always been individualistic and unburdened, favoring creativity and color over strict doctrine.

I couldn't have said it better, he is really a great author and I had the opportunity to follow several of his courses, directly from his site and they were all excellent. Yet, in an almost inexplicable way, it has never achieved the success it deserves.

... Destiny always has a sense of humor when it comes to rewarding the right or the wrong people.
