Employers need to not raise the prices while raising wages to Living County Wages, and cease to automate. The problem lies mainly in job titles, automation, and the shrinkage of the work force to a dull groan.
The US Federal government has what they call a "GS" level, which precedes a number, much like enlisted or officer military designations. Military job classifications and GS job classifications blow modern titles for public sector jobs out of the water as they are completely non-related by logic.
It all started with the "Rockstar" bullcrap. Ive experienced only one company that never used job titles other than FTE or Contractor.
The way the employer, that poor poor employer handles it is by the theory of investment - long term growth.
Automation is destroying the workforce, while the public sector worker is blitzed by a flurry of buzzword job titles, completely unrelated to the job at hand. Paying the Living County Wage is better than Federal Minimum Wage, because is keeps up with the cost of living in that county.
I fully believe the best way to handle it is for Federal government jobs become the standard. Want to cease marijuana, become a federal job worker. If the GS level and title were given to the public sector worker, they'd have an awesome job title and it would actually be related to what they do.
