Recently i watch a video of Jeremiah Schwartz aka Universal Mastery saying that lodge and secret societys are a red flag in occultism cause they don't have the correct information, he said that people like Crowley who belongs to lodges and occult orders die poor and adicted to drugs so i don't thing any of us want to end like that, i was recently applied to enter on Masonry, the Master Mason i met is a good guy with me and is working hard for my initiation but suddenly he goes sick he was internaly in hospital they detect diabetes on him and i'm think very seriously about enter in Masonry know none of us one to end like this people, Universal Mastery says that secret lodges are full of misconceptions about what occult/magic/spirituality really is, also he says that they rituals are wrong so am very afraid to lose all what i gain from my occult practices, i start with Chaos Magick and things goes very good for me, i interested in Masonry cause i know they have exclusive information but know am a little bit scared so what you guys think about this?

the occult/magic/spiritual communities/people are full of misconceptions about what occult/magic/spirituality really is

There I fixed it for Jeremiah Schwartz aka Universal Mastery.

Occultists ending up in a bad way is nothing new. Seems like a lot of practitioners do have real issues at some point, I think the real question is if that’s sorta how our story ends or if we get back up again and can we come back from it. (The whole higher you climb, the further you can fall bit.) And if we can, will the come back be as high profile as us falling on our faces. Or maybe we learn our lesson/mature a bit for the next time around and maybe we generally aim more for contentment vs living like a rockstar. Who knows.

A bit of advice tho:

-Magic is a personal pursuit even if you do it as part of an organization. And the deeper you go, the more personal it becomes. You can’t really effectively follow (or lead) someone very far down this rabbit hole.

-(I’m not a mason, tho some relatives were.) Think of them as more of a social org with an occult flair. Do it if you like the people, don’t rely on them to teach you much in the way of magic.

-Humans generally end up in a bad way, whether you do magic or not. Life is messy and the end of life is a damn shit show.

So in short, do what you enjoy. If you find the masons interesting give them a whirl. Enjoy the ride because we all fuck up along the way and generally have very messy ends so make your life worth the trouble.

*There’s some quickly typed up random thoughts to think about. Got to go, my wife is looking at me, we’re doing new house projects. Enjoy :) and don’t worry too
much about it.
