Last night a small part of my dreams had Lord Shiva the Hindu God of destruction in them with the background as warm summer colors. Idk what means. I do feel it has something to do with not only the black flame I've acquired but also the fact that I'm in a moment of life where I'm undergoing great change. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Am going to have to change my diet and quit eating beef?

Unless you feel compelled to do so, change nothing.
Also, most "Hindus" eat meat, including beef. The schtick of strict vegetarianism in India was heavily spread by the Theosophical Society (another reason I despise Theosophists).

I would dare guess that maybe you will go through a big or serious change in summer, as death/destruction also carries an understanding that it means "change in your reality" be it in your perspective over something or literally something changing in you, in your environment or even in those around you.

It can be good, bad or a mix of both, but that is hard to say.
It's just a theory though, as not all dreams actually have a message to them, sometimes it's just our minds picking random things.

He could be your ishta devta your divine parent. You might be asking for guidance in life on some perticular journey. Mostly trying to find your way to your spirit or soul or home. So he is the divine father of our world right now. Its he whose preserving earth from a catastrophic end. Him showing up in your vision can simply means he is your divine parent. Its a potent connection and a great blessing from him. Harness it by learning more about him from the authentic sources. He is not just a god of destruction. As most common this era belief. He is a exhalted creator god who can create destroy and preserve.

Powerful dream! Shiva in warm summer colors points to transformation and clearing old patterns—fits with your black flame and life changes. Don’t stress diet; it’s likely symbolic. Reflect, journal, or meditate on the imagery to integrate the message.
Here’s a simple, safe ritual/visualization you can do to work with the dream energy of Shiva and your black flame:

Shiva Dream Integration Visualization
  1. Prepare: Sit quietly in a comfortable space. Light a small candle or incense if you like.
  2. Ground Yourself: Take 5–10 deep breaths, feeling your connection to the earth.
  3. Call the Imagery: Close your eyes and visualize the warm summer colors from your dream. See Shiva standing there, calm but powerful.
  4. Engage the Energy: Imagine the black flame within you expanding gently. See Shiva’s energy merging with yours—not overpowering, just aligning. Feel any old patterns or fears burn away in this light.
  5. Receive Guidance: Quietly ask what this energy wants you to understand about your current transformation. Observe any thoughts, feelings, or images that arise.
  6. Close: Thank the energy, let the visualization fade, and take a few grounding breaths. Optionally, journal any insights.
