Quintessence?

I've seen references to this substance (or something similar) in a lot of scientific and occult literature (it's usually referred to under a bunch of other names like ether or tass). Most explanations of it describe it as an underlying energy that permeates all of reality. I feel like this description fits really well with the Higgs Boson but i was wondering if anyone else had any theories about this mystical substance.

i would say read some of jarhyns post here on wf and i think RoccoR might like the challenge to explain that as well. i fo rmyself cant explain it, but if you are a watcher you might be able to see me do it in your dreams. at least thats how it used to be.
