This will be a short one, as I genuinely have no clue what it was and don't have any insight on it. Still wanted to log it though. On March 12, 2026, around 22:40 I was laying in bed and started hearing what sounded EXACTLY like Kayako's death rattle/gurgle. It sounded like it came from under my blanket, but there was nothing there no matter how many times I checked. I sent a recording to my friend and even though the mic barely picked it up, they agreed it was the exact same sound. I looked it up to see if the gurgle from the horror franchise The Grudge is based on any actual occult entities. I did have hopes, as Kayako is based off of onryous, which are actual occult entities. I couldn't find anything. My friend said it sounded kinda like a drum which made me think it might've been a Hachishakusama, but nothing else adds up to it. I'm 18 and she only preys on children, and the sound she makes is supposed to mimic loved ones. I do love Kayako, but as a favorite character, not really a "loved one" like a family or friends. I don't have any clue what it was, but I am certain it had something to do with the occult. I know it was not a natural sound. I'm currently looking for insight on it so if someone could shed a light on it it could be very helpful, but don't waste my time saying it was the bed moving or crickets from outside, I know very well that what I heard was supernatural.
