Are you familiar with elemental magic? Do you work with it? I am not going to go through the elements in detail here, because if you are on an esoteric forum, most likely you already know the basics. You understand what each element is responsible for. Instead, I want to share how you can energize with the elements to increase your personal power and energy. We'll talk about general rules for working with the elements, how to perform rituals, and how to thank them for their help. But remember, this is only a guided tour. Your journey in getting to know and work with the elements should be a unique and vivid experience. (Although I don't rule out that some of you already have a mentor.) I hope you find this topic interesting, and I'd love for you to share your knowledge and experiences in the comments! Since it is impossible to describe all four elements at once (it would take me a lot of time), I will gradually add my thoughts in the comments, telling about each element and everything that is related to them.
Why are the elements important in magic? No matter what kind of magic you practice, the elements are present everywhere. Almost every ritual includes elements of one element or another. According to ancient beliefs, we ourselves are made up of elements:
Earth: Our bones and joints.
Water: Our blood, sweat and saliva.
Air: Our breath, words and singing.
Fire: Our vigor, accomplishments and emotions expressed through creativity.
The elements are also always present on the altar:
Earth: Salt (if there is no access to real earth).
Fire: Candle.
Water: In its pure form.
Air: Incense or smoky herbs.
The basics for a beginner in elemental magic are as follows: To gain strength from the elements, you just need to get in touch with them. Earth is all around us, we are in constant contact with it.
in constant contact with it, but that doesn't mean that it's constantly
but that doesn't mean it's always giving magicians its energy. In order
in order to take it, you have to get in touch with the earth element itself.
of the earth. Walk barefoot on the ground, lie down on the ground, and drink in it, take care of plants, clean up excessive garbage in nature, find your tree - donor. There are trees that can nourish a person. Use meditation. Visualize yourself putting roots into the ground. This meditation will ground you. Visualize yourself absorbing the pure energy of the earth through these roots. The earth is a symbol of reliability, strength, it's the center and the
support. The earth is the very center that has the power
to heal and calm. So, the element itself and its spirits
would be a great aid in rituals that are meant to heal.
for healing, protection, or well-being,
On the altar, the Earth always stands in the North sector.
In the traditions of Russian witchcraft, the Earth can be used for both good and dark deeds. For example, the earth from the grave, which is used in the ritual, and then poured under the threshold of the offender, can bring destruction. But in order to create (no matter, good or evil), one needs forces. And these forces can be taken from the Earth!
Here is an interesting ritual for attracting prosperity:
Buy seeds of “money” plants such as basil or wheatgrass. (Fun fact: in the old days, basil oil or juice was used by courtesans, dousing themselves with it to attract rich clients! )
On a waxing moon, mix soil with coins and plant the seeds, using financial prosperity incantations.
By caring for the seeds, you “nurture” your financial success. And do not forget that all four elements are involved: Earth (soil), Water (watering), Fire (sunlight) and Air (environment).
Earth for cleansing
Salt, stones and crystals are also connected to the Earth. When I purchase a new magical instrument, I always cleanse it by leaving it in salt for twenty-four hours. This helps to remove excess energy that can interfere with the ritual.
After rituals, I recommend a salt cleansing:
Sit in a bathtub (without water) and gently rub salt on your skin.
Visualize how the salt removes all the negativity accumulated during the ritual.
Rinse off with water.
When the weather permits, I like to go to the park, sit with my back to my favorite tree, close my eyes and just “listen”. All the thoughts that come at that moment, I immediately write down in a notebook, because they are quickly forgotten.
After rituals or to make contact with the Earth, I leave offerings: cake, cookies, milk, honey, seeds, or even freshly brewed tea. These gifts are not literally for the Earth. It needs the energy you put into making them. You are spending your time, energy and thought, and that is valuable.
Sometimes during meditation, you may feel that the Earth is “asking” for something specific - like pancakes. This is normal! Do not laugh at this. The Earth senses your sincerity, and feigned sincerity will push her away. And remember, your offerings will also feed the animals and birds, which is also important.
This was a short lecture about the element Earth. In the comments I will talk about other elements - Water, Air and Fire. If you have any questions or want to share your experience, write!
Water: its sacred meaning and practical application
If you think about the role of water in our lives, its sacred meaning becomes obvious. It is an indisputable fact: in the beliefs and mystical cults of any nation, water occupies a special place. Take at least our native Slavic mythology. There are a lot of customs associated with the dousing of a person - often, it would seem, joking, but with a deep subtext: mutual cleansing from filth. Or bathing in natural bodies of water on certain days - for example, on the days of the summer solstice, on the eve of Ivan Kupal or on the Feast of Epiphany.
Modern research on water reveals its truly magical properties. Scientists have proved that water, being in a liquid state, is able to absorb information from the surrounding space and transmit it to living organisms. Another amazing fact: water (or water solution, for example, blood, saliva, urine) retains energy-informational connection with its original source. This means that if you transfer information to one milliliter of water, all the water in the original vessel will “perceive” the same information. Truly magical property, isn't it?
Another amazing property of water: it “perceives” and carries information only in liquid state. The transition to a gaseous or solid state “erases” all the information that the water has absorbed. Thus, melt water or water condensed from vapor becomes neutral and pure.
This knowledge is what we use in magic. We work with only two kinds of water:
1.Water drawn from a natural spring at dawn.
2.Water that is frozen and thawed to purify it from unnecessary information.
The simplest rituals with water are based on “whispering”. You take a cup of water, whisper an incantation on it, laying the necessary information, and then use it (drink, wash or wipe the body).
The method of “wax casting” is also used for cleansing. Natural beeswax is melted to a liquid state and poured into ice cold melt water. This is a very old and effective method of cleansing.
As for the gratitude to the water element, most often these are offerings that are let on the water: wreaths of fresh flowers, food for fish and water birds (swans, ducks). The water is treated with wine or other gifts that come to mind. The main thing is not to pollute the water. No metal, glass or poison!
If you conduct the ritual at home and need to get rid of its traces (ashes, liquids, melted water), you can turn to the tap water, asking it to carry away everything unnecessary and destroy. After that, pour out the water with gratitude.
Water plays a huge role in different esoteric traditions. In the church it is washed, in elemental magic it is put on the altar, in paganism work with water spirits, asking for help from mermaids, watermen and other creatures. In Russian witchcraft, the water, which washed the deceased, is considered very strong in terms of negativity. It is used to scald enemies or poured under the threshold. I have never practiced such methods, as they cause me rejection. However, many practitioners pay a lot of money for such water.
I will, however, tell you some simple rituals with water that do not require complicated preparations, but can be effective if you have a connection with the element.
How do you develop a connection with water?
Listen to the sounds of rain, mountain rivers or waterfalls on YouTube and meditate to them.
Draw a tub of water and lie in it, visualizing the water enveloping and cleansing you.
Go to a body of water more often, meditate on the shore, and ask the water to energize you.
A simple experiment with water
Take two small containers with clean water. Whisper an incantation on one of them, and leave the other one as it is. Freeze both containers. If your word has power, the conjured water will have a different structure. You'll see the difference.
My favorite method of gaining energy:
Take a few pieces of elecampane root, pour 200 ml of boiling water.
Let it infuse for 30 minutes.
Pronounce: “Elecampane, elecampane, give me nine of your strength”.
Drink the infusion and wipe your face with the rest.
A conspiracy for cleansing
Whisper on the water:
“Pain sickness from someone else's box, where it came from, there it went. Who sent you, he missed you. I curse you, I send you back, beyond the blue rivers, beyond the high mountains, where the plots will not find you. Go back to the one who sent you, who never knew grief. “Stay with him and do not return.”
Conspiracy during a shower
“How many fish in the water, so much health in the body of me (name).
How much power in the sea, so much power in me (name).
As the river knows the way to the sea,
so I (name) know where to go,
on the right path.
Так было, так есть, так будет».
Ритуал на привлечение денег
Take a pot of water, add herbs associated with money (basil, clover, mint).
Boil it, saying 9 times:
“How you do not forget your share,
“and you keep coming back to it all the time,
“so the money does not forget me,
“and the money will come to me from three thousand miles away.
Let it be so.”
Soak a rag in the cooled water and wipe the body. Dry the grass and burn it.
Ritual before a party, or favorite event where it is important for you to please people. Take clean melted water, say over a cup and drink.
“Old and young,
“married and single,
ours and yours
there is no one (your name) more beautiful.”
