I'm not really sure how to ask these. I think we need a section in the form for particular intentions, with one being exactly what I'm talking about. With whatever place this topic belongs, please put it there.

Anyway, I'd like to ask what you're take is on the subject of magic for sex or dating.

Unless it's all 100% out in the open, there's no way to get informed consent, however, there are certain venues where upon entering, implied consent can be assumed. One could strengthen their confidence if the target frequents these establishments. This is the justification used for "tough love" tactics in a therapeutic setting. "They're making appointments and they keep walking thru the door, they must want help..." But, again, this isn't informed consent, the gold standard.

Why the hell wouldnt you? I have plenty of talismans that work on my charisma, physical attractiveness, increase in attention from women. When people are on the market and dating they use their skills to attract partners. Guys with money use it for fancy dates, guys who go to the gym wear tight fitting clothes, guys who play music invite a date to their show... why wouldnt someone who does magic cast a spell to sway a date in their favor?

Targeted love magic is nasty because its messing with someone's will and thats why it backfires so much. Doing magic to be more attractive, charismatic, magnetic, or help your sex life is not the same thing and I think is one of the more fun, reasonable, and practical applications of magic.

Piggybacking off of what's been said above, there is no way to do magick to takeover another's will and be ethical about it. The ethical way to go about it is to either make yourself more appealing to a potential partner, or to sway events to favor you running into and pairing up with an ideal mate. Hope this helps.

Agree completely with what Abammon said as well. I found Damon Brand's "Kestrel influence magick" an interesting read, but I decided I wouldn't want to use it. The same as Frank Rudolph Young's book "Laws of Mental Domination". Both claim to be ethical(Kestrel influence magick claims to be neutral and can be used for good or bad, and Laws of mental domination claims to work better when everything is done with other peoples best interest in mind as well as understanding karma), but still something seems off to me about trying to directly affect an individuals person's thoughts.

Working with attraction or intimacy is fine, as long as it doesn’t override someone else’s free will. Magick that manipulates feelings or behavior without consent can have karmic or energetic consequences.I personally see the safest and most effective approach as enhancing yourself rather than controlling someone else—boosting confidence, charisma, emotional openness, or creating circumstances where compatible partners are naturally drawn to you. You can combine this with personal or planetary rituals, protective talismans, or energy work without infringing on anyone’s agency.
I see what you mean about dedicated sections, but isn’t that kind of what the search function is for? You can usually find threads on specific topics, like intentions, sex/dating magick, or other areas, by searching keywords.

That said, having a place where people can clearly state their specific intentions could still be helpful—especially for new users who might not know which threads to search for. It’s more about clarity than replacing the search function.

I'm completly unable to believe that magic is able to 'zombify' someone into a submissive meat puppet. What should work, however, is to make a person favour you and see you as a potential lover, something which people have been doing using various ploys and ruses since time immemorial. For example, here's a technique suggested by chaos magician Peter J. Carroll in his "Liber Kaos":

The “moon glance” technique is often effective. Basically you briefly close your eyes. Momentarily visualize a lunar crescent in silver behind your eyes —with the horns of the moon projecting out of each side of your head behind your eyes. Then glance into the eyes of a potential lover while visualizing a silver radiance beaming from your eyes to his or hers. This maneuver also has the effect of dilating the pupils and usually causes an involuntary smile. Both of these are universal sexual signals, the first of which acts subconsciously.

It's dressed up as magic but you could very well simply call it a pick-up technique. In general, I think you can't override somebody's will anyway, only give it a nudge into the right direction. Humans are very complex beings with often muddled motives and hidden instinctual drives, so any intervention would have to affect all these levels simultaneously which I can't see really happening.
