Generally the old USSR gets dumped on as the venue that took stamping out thought crime to its heights. The UK is presently gearing up for a go at the title, but they have ground to cover yet.

Query: who invented thought crime? The earliest instance I know is in Matthew 5:28, "Who looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart." Quite the legacy, a straight line from Nazareth to the NKVD, Yeshua to Nikolai Yezhov and Berea. And, yes, their woke successors here in the West. Puts a new light on creeds of love, I aver. A new light indeed.

As a general rule, I think the British state deserves most of what it gets. I am a bit baffled though as to where this idea that we've suddenly become Orwellian is coming from. The state has been pushing much of what's now criticised since Blair was in power so it's nothing new. Last summer's riots seem to have been a flash point but netizens were only prosecuted for knowingly, wrongly doxxing people who, whether they should be here or not aside, were not responsible for the crime of which they were being accused. Saying "Mr XX did this and you, angry mob, should go to his door at xx street" would be a crime even in the most gun-toting, illusion-of-freedom worshipping counties in the reddest states of America.

OK, Blair's pigeon's are coming home to roost bearing fruit. Meanwhile I am reduced to eating my meagre supper of crow and humble pie.

Though the question here is not whether something NEW is going on, but whether something foul is. Blair may be nothing new (though, compared to say the Magna Carta, he is). The issue is whether continuing nudging things in the same direction as he is healthy. A parallel case is the consideration that the camel pushing his nose a little further inside the tent is nothing new. The problem is that the rest of his bulk invariably follows.

If that is the case, why are the baying mobs of Muslims not equally prosecuted? Where is the enquiry into the Grooming Gangs? Why is 'Islamophobia' even a thing? They are not a race either - it's a dark ages death cult yet it's adherents get a free pass & criticising them gets you into trouble here in the UK.
And pray tell why does the British State 'deserve most of what it gets'? (I do hope you're going to go where I think you are here......)

They are. Poetically enough they were "equally prosecuted" as part of the same riots last summer.

You are responsible for what you allow to take root in your thoughts. There are no laws against "Islamophobia" in this country. There is a law which prohibits discrimination on any religious grounds but that covers everyone.

What you hope for makes no difference to me but I will answer your question... if I only knew where to begin!

Invaded a foreign country on the fabricated pretext of "weapons of mass destruction" destabilising an entire subcontinent in the process... Would you like me to keep going?

The current fear of Britain "being taken over" would hold more weight with me if Brits were in the slightest bit curious about what led to this. But, no, to shallow minded people the symptoms are the problem, not the underlying disease. The alarms were sounding for decades, especially since the 1930s, but everyone was too interested in football and Page 3 to have bothered. Now? Blind panic, often directed at people who have more reverence for the foundations of this country than the indigenous inhabitants. Britain is getting what it deserves and, if it collapses entirely, it will deserve that too. Stupidity, laziness, short-sightedness and greed all deserve the consequences of their actions.

You do have a point there. What exactly is being taken over? How desirable is it? Would its continuation mark any real benefit?

There is that brilliant scene in Gallipoli where the old Irish prospector rescues in the desert the two young guys going off to enlist to fight the Jerries. "And why would you be after fighting them?" "The Germans could come here and take the whole land!" The prospector looks into dust blowing from the parched waste and mutters, "Aye? And they're damned welcome to it!"

I don't much hold with the jihadist solution, but their contempt for the druggie, consumerist, porn-streaming West is not wholly wide of the mark.

My objection is basically as follows:

My country is being over-run by a culture that despises and hates it, yet whilst they are at liberty to march in the streets demanding the destruction of anything & everything they object to - including other Nations very right to exist - anybosy who dares to criticize them gets accused of being an Istophobe of whatever cap they want to cram onto the alleged offender's head, but it only ever works in one direction - theirs. You have seen the pictures & footage of baying mobs outside schools because certain teachers 'offended' an Imam from well over 30 miles away?

I refuse to be held responsible for anything done in the past as I didn't do it so why should I be punished for it?
Collective Guilt is BS, and nobody has a legal right to never get offended (at least in theory anyway). Period.

The term "ethnomasochism" describes a good deal of what you are opposing.
