I am planning for the summer of 2026 to do a road trip, lasting a couple months across the US to visit locations of significance to odd events, spiritually “charged” places, places with religious or occult lore in its history and any shops that are recommended. As well as any other locations, that may not be covered there.
I was wondering what places any of you would go to? This can be from any tradition, belief system or even ufo and cryptid lore.

Mount Shasta
Area 51 (not direct there, they could shoot you, but some nearby town)
Salem

I'm sure that there are many more such cool places in the US. These just came to mind.

Mt Shasta immediately comes to mind. Bear Lodge (Devil's Tower). The Badlands. On the other side of the country, Serpent Mound (the observation tower's out of commission for repairs last I read though).

The Clown Motel was on my list for years, then they remodeled and took all the sketchiness away from it. By all means visit it and report back, but I can't imagine any haunted shenanigans in their ritzy looking new rooms.

The company I buy my pipes from, Missouri Meerschaum, keeps advertising to me in their emails that they do paranormal tours of their factory, which sounds fun. Haunted pipe factory.

New Orleans is full of occult lore and small independent shops lead my well known practitioners.

Washington DC. Amazing architecture with highly charged sites with rich history.

The Masonic Library and Museum of Pennsylvania in Philly.

Sedona, AZ

Bluff Creek in Northern California was where the Patterson-Gimlin film was taken. The PNW has a ton of BFreports, but I wouldn't know any hotspots outside Shasta . Georgia has a Bigfoot museum tho lol.

Somerset County Kentucky, a bit of local high weirdness, and the cult of the green man.

Hamilton county Ohio (a bit further north, maybe 2 hour drive approx) - old stomping grounds of Nema Andahadna (of Maat Magick) and some of her family and former students still reside in the area, and the town of Cincinnati Ohio, county seat, has a lot of historical high weirdness, hauntings, and a couple of really good occult bookshops / supply shops.

Looking at the above ... wow, what a trip this could be . I cant advise though due to the location . I did it here with GF years back . The result was that we ended up being initiated into a Wiccan coven :D . Which ended up being great social fun and made some new friends .

Have fun .... let us know how it goes .
