They have a lot of occult themes but most stories sadly dont actually draw from occult lore but rather from the normie preception of occultisim

Basically a creatrive writing community that writes about a fictive FBI/CIA type organization dealing with paranormal stuff in the shadows
Fun to read but sadly it doesnt draw much inspiration from actual occult organizations like the O.T.O or Golden Dawn

Sure it does -Draw inspiration from the occult.
im not much of a fan but i've caught a video or two, it's an interesting little act of creativity- it set it's boundaries and genre, raised a following,
set up a mythos all of it's own.
As i said i don't particularly care, but i can easily see the scp being taken into the magick currents.

it's basically a modern, more involved Necronomicon
It will very easily slime it's way into Chaos praxis and it's figures will just as easily adapt as new faces of old pantheons, but with a fresh change of
-not a Chtulu but a 3 letter government organization.
There is potential, for sure. in 300 years after the nuclear fallout clears our high tech progeny might make it a religion.

Very familiar with it and would like to note there is very technically a small cult around it.

I've only read some of the entries and a couple of the books, but "there is no antimemetics division" by qntm is well worth your time.

I didn't get the impression that any of them are actual occultists.

Read some of their articles in the past, back in my creepy and ritual pasta searching I used to do (and still do it).

The idea is that they don't necessarily have much occult inspirational articles, but some of them: the Umbrella spider, for example, is really an interesting article and it may have come from the idea of a Tulpa (thoughtform) with enhanced abilities in the physical realms.

Or, for the lolz, I may have sipped some wrong juice to see a spider as a moving umbrella 🤣

Some stories in there are really good, like When Day Breaks or 5000. But nothing really occult related.

SCP is very much less "occult" and more "creepy pasta". As someone who has followed it since like 2014, I definitely consume a LOT of SCP but don't consider it to be something to incorporate into a practice or even draw inspiration from. Even the GOC (Global Occult Coalition) is less reliant on the Occult and more just an amalgamation of various cult-like groups (Cult of the Dead God, The Fifthists, Cult of the Scarlet King, etc) than any actual Occult-adjacency.

It's crowdsourced, so some is excellent and some meh. Nothing to do with occultism though, it's just some excellent and some meh fiction short stories.

The idea of a cognitohazard has stuck with me and I think is valid though, without any layer of woo or paranormal needed. (a subset of cognitohazard is "there are some things you can't unsee", as an example)

Take for example how they put the Global Occult Coalition fighting Lucifer and having ties with Asheras lol
