Talismans from a plant you allied with, think of the rowan tree which haves a tradition of protection. I start visiting the tree long before the berries grow: in the end of the winter to be able to watch the complete growing process. I bring with me attention, intention and maybe some water or manure to help the tree growing, The moments of the visits can be daily, but it is possible to carefully choose those moments. (Under influence of planets, or chosen by divination, use your own method)

For harvesting the rowan berries I pick a special moment too, but it can be that nature chooses another moment: every growing season is different and you need to accept that, Doing so, you will develop a relationship with that tree also. After harvesting I dry the berries and after that I chain them on a tread with a little help of a sharp needle. You can add dried root parts of mandrake too, preferably a home grown plant.

Another method: choose blackberries in your neighborhood to harvest from and harvest some blackberries itself and the thorns. Choose the thickest and prickiest thorns you can find. If the plant makes scratches on your skin and you bleed, it is a plus and maybe even a prio. Dry the thorns. Cook the berries till you have the black juice. Cut 3 branches of the bramble and make a hoop from it. If it cracks you need start over again with everything with another plant! Before picking the blackberrie stuff you have find some white sheep's wool. Clean it, spin a thread of it and make a little pooch of it in your preferred method. Paint the pooch with the blackberrie juice and vinegar of urine. Handwash it, dry it. Then take all those thorns you collected, put them in pooch and close the pooch by sewing. On full moon lay down the hoop (your circle) and place the pooch in the middle to make it gain more power. There you have another strong working talisman. Needless to say that you have your intention in mind the whole time in this whole process. Make sure you choose blackberries from a place that is not so cultivated by modern humans. I have some special places: a bronze age burial place and a place where there is a folk story about a giant who lives behind a thorny hedge. If you are open for folklore and history you can find places like that yourself.

Yes.
Well, not the circle casting, I think that is only useful as part of a system that calls for it.

A charged talisman, a daily prayer, a visualized bubble shield of some kind, all great for normal life.

If you plan on being involved in curse wars, much more is needed. Different situations require different preparations.

Still include some of this stuff situationally or per the ritual I’m doing.

But these days I rely mostly on a prayer, little self discipline, and two rings. Each ring has a different enchantment on it, between the two they designate authority, protection, and calling down a curse on anyone who attempts to harm me or mine.

Simple quality over quantity these days.

Yes, once you've given up your sovereignty, there is less to be protected against, because you are no longer you, and you've already lost.

Even then, you may eventually find external enemies who oppose you. Good luck fighting them without your sovereignty.

Nothing… I only use my own mind and its power. If it ever becomes too much or costs me too much strength or energy, I simply “disconnect” and focus my mind on everyday reality – like, for example, what I’m going to do at work tomorrow…

Are you talking about protection during a specific ritual or working, or something more along the lines of daily spiritual protection?

For the former, I’ll cast a circle mentally, using energy work (I’m experimenting with different methods, “energy work” is one of the key areas I’m challenging my innate skeptic to do) to draw power into myself and then slowly grow it out from an inner sphere into a protective bubble.

I also have numerous lengths of old climbing rope in various colours which come in handy for producing an instant circle. Some of these are deeply impregnated with my own blood, sweat and toil from physical labour, as well as tree sap, dirt, the stuff of the Earth. They are deeply linked to both myself and the material, natural world.

I then call upon whichever allies I may require and they are fixed in cardinal points about the circle, like divine groundsmen keeping an eye out for hazards or nuisances while I work.

But, recently I’ve found myself drawn to a more spiritual and devotional practice. Making daily offerings to my allies ( my HGA, the goddess Brigid, various unnamed spiritual allies), along with sincere prayer and personal reflection to ensure I’m trying to live in accordance with my true will; these things give me a lasting sense of protection during my mundane business.

If I feel I need cleansing from some kind psychic parasite or “luminous fibres”, scraping off with an iron wand (a reconsecrated fire poker), salt and rosemary baths work well for me.

For my everyday protection stuff, I just carry this enchanted stone that I consecrated to basically be a combination of smokescreen, chaff, and just not being where hostile beings are looking, with the intent to prevent any outside influences from affecting me unless I specifically want them to do so.

With my protective stone I'm not unscryable, but you won't get anything but worthless junk data. Any sort of malicious working sent my way gets diverted off to a null target too so you can't really affect me directly without overpowering my protections. And any attempts to discern what is around me gets junk data too so you can't really hit me with indirect stuff. I mean it's not a flawless thing but it does what it's supposed to and keep shit from mucking up my shit. BTW when I consecrated it I was juiced up on the full authority of myself-as-god via theurgical methods so overpowering it directly isn't really something feasible either.

As for protection during rituals and workings, I just embody the authority of myself-as-god and speak my will with intent, commanding spirits when necessary but usually just directly creating manifestation of results without any perceived external forces. (when I say "myself-as-god" I'm speaking of my higher self/hga/godhead/ect)

I use a rather weird combination. The cocktail forms a nice vessel & formation, which keeps the unwanted away. This ensures a dense stacked state which gives all kinds of benefits. Together with some invocations, visualizations.

The main Quran chapters like the 112 113 114, ayatul kursi and the other shorter ones. Some additional extra comes from dua kursi, which is not the same as the verse, a longer prayer. The hizbul bahr, saifi and jaljalut, these are also specific prayers. The dhikrs like la ilaha illalah, others.
Most of it I stack through psalms and hesychasm, saint work.

1. Circle casting - this is always evolving. I used to use grimoiric techniques in physically drawing them. The past few years I've been drawing concentric circles of the Tetragrammaton around myself using visualization. I still use physical binding circles/triangles on my altar though to place the entity/spirit into.

2. Talismans - my main "protective" talisman that I always wear and have been my entire occult career is a simple Eye of Horus. A symbol of my spiritual place in the heirarchy as the Divine Child.

3. Prayers and Invocations - I start with "bismillah al-rahman al-rahim" 19 times before any working. This then turns into a prayer of surrender to God and his will as well as an appeal for guidance and protection in the operation. After that there is a practice of tetragrammaton permutations to assume the name in my body and environment. Then it moves into a placement of the archangels around the room. From there an invocation of the ruling diety of the operation (for example if im doing a love spell I'll do a prayer and invocation to Venus asking for her guidance and protection). From there is a conjuration of the directional and binding spirits and that appeal is for them to bring me the spirit or entity I'm trying to contact for the operation under the authority of (insert a plethora of Abrahamic godnames). Once the spirit is there I've gone through this process of cementing my Holy authority, archangels protecting the space from unwanted guests, and invoked a consort of binding spirits that are maintaining control of the entity I am contacting. The method of invoking the ruling diety and binding spirits has been a blessing in my practice and the invocation of the archangels has never failed to keep things at the edge of the perimeter.

3. Prayers and Invocations - I start with "bismillah al-rahman al-rahim"

Do you ever work with the salawats? There's one that you just reminded me. "Bismillah arrahman arraheem, allahumma salli ala sayydina Mohammad" or the extended versions "Bismillah arrahman arraheem, allahumma salli ala sayydina Mohammadin wa ala aali Mohammad" +
and the longer with "wa sahbihi wa sallim" added.

I've talked to people who were very fond of the salawat practice and used them for protection. The short ones are "spammable".
