Hi all!

I'm looking to learn more about the Occult and Psychic knowledgebase, in an attempt to make sense of my own supernatural/paranormal experiences that I've had throughout my life. Stupid as it may sound to many of you, I was a rigid "Science-Only" mentality type, where reason and physics are the only things that are real, even though I'd have many unexplainable experiences that were undeniably real... somehow I was still able to file them away on the back burner of my mind all these years until recently when things just got a little too real to deny anymore that I needed answers.

Growing up, I'd have these dreams which I've come to learn that about 14 days later would come true.
I have seen passed family members on two separate occasions. I've heard people walking throughout my house when it was known to be empty or while the family was asleep and I was awake, upon investigating who it was no one was there.
I had a near death (possibly?) experience where my heart stopped, I floated out of my body and began getting pulled up to space (not heaven and there was no light) and a woman's voice told me everything was going to be okay and that I'm going home now and I felt the most beautiful euphoria I'd ever felt in my life, then everything went black for a few minutes and I suddenly woke up about 4 hours later. Initially I thought perhaps I was in an alternate version of earth as I'd passed so I ran around touching things to see if they were real, checked the time, etc. and realized no I was back in normal reality. Extremely disorienting.

Up until recently I had naively thought these could just be figments of my imagination or somehow exclusive experiences that had nothing to do with one another.

Eventually in digging into my experiences, I came across a Psychic, who recommended I speak with another Psychic. which led me to realize that there is a lot of overlap with my experiences and that they aren't necessarily random or even uncommon and eventually I met a Channeler who taught me how to meditate and meet my Spirit Guide and Higher Self, who I've spoken with now on many occasions in the last couple months and have learned a lot from, but still feel like I'm clueless and that this is all so new to me and a LOT to take in and accept is part of reality which I feel like I've tried to ignore for so many years.

I think I'm going to make a more extended post detailing all of my experiences in as much detail as possible because I feel like details matter, but I am not sure if this Intro forum is the best place to do so.

Please let me know if it would be best suited to this forum or if I should put it elsewhere.

Thank you!

Welcome! This sounds like exactly the kind of thing that should have brought you here :)

I will say though, don't beat yourself up about science - it's my personal belief that there is no such thing as the supernatural - only natural things that we don't yet understand. Physics may yet catch up with us :)

Welcome!! Happy to have you here. To me, science and mysticism have always been intertwined. I don't believe you can really have one without the other, no?

That's impressive. Welcome.

I'm not sure the occult will be helpful. It occasionally talks about the paranormal but rarely has substance. It seems like you're dealing with psychic phenomena. I would suggest exploring that route. Find a very talented psychic (not easy), pay them, and they can really help you. It sounds like that's exactly what you've done. Well done.

I see the occult as more of a poorly written explanation of how reality—both spiritual and physical—works. Once you start understanding it, you'll notice many similarities to new age ideas, just without the love and light. The occult is a religious explanation without religion. That doesn’t seem very helpful to you. "Occult" meaning hidden knowledge.

Modern interpretations have included magic and witchcraft. Again, I’m not sure magic will help you.

If i may give one piece of advice. Use your discernment. Just because you are talking to a voice from the other side doesnt mean they are credible. There are a lot more liars and tricksters and pieces of shit on the other side telling us what we want to hear. Way more than people realize.

I can definitely agree to that, I've been entertaining the idea of quantum physics and psychic/spiritual reality describing possibly the same thing. Not convinced either way but still an interesting thought experiment!

It's true in a sense that if science describes all of reality, it must include mysticism which at some point would need to be and should quite possibly be scientifically explainable...

I'm also not sure how much the occult will be helpful, but I'm still trying to decypher the delineation between psychic, spiritual, supernatural, magick and occult phenomena so I can't rule anything out yet. Aside from accepting what I'm experiencing as something that is real and actually happening, which is mind blowing to me, I'm almost overwhelmed by all the knowledge out there on these subjects that I had not ever considered to be anything more than weird fantasy shit the goth kids were into lol

I did have to go thru multiple psychics, some of whom were bullshit artists, before I found one that just wanted to help and even insisted I not pay her to which I said no way and almost had to throw the money at her it was actually quite funny. She had so much useful information and had met a couple others like me before, and she recommended me personal contacts she knew within the community near me, and recommended books and has been periodically reaching out to follow up on how the other meetings have gone. I almost didn't go meet her because I'd gotten so disillusioned from wasting time and money with other psychics and mediums that I began doubting that my experiences were even related to any of this at all and that no one could help. Overall super helpful and genuine person that I'm glad to have met!

To be honest, most of my experiences have to do with precognitive dreams, two of which I was able to directly change the outcome from the dream outcome and both of which had severe physical effect on myself I guess as retribution? astral projection, some remote viewing, meeting entities during this gnosis-type meditation state I was taught, these entities who've telepathically communicated with me (wrapping my mind around this one was like when Neo was told about reality) and I'm open to the idea of other things being real, such as magick and other occult phenomena but am kind of putting that on the backburner at the moment since I want to prioritize my own experiences first before adding on top of it. I'm hoping this forum doesn't exclude psychic/spiritual stuff in favor of magick only?

One thing I should've mentioned is that growing up I was a huge nerd of history and American symbolism and noticed the Freemasons had way more interest in the structuring of this country than most realize, and had a mild interest in joining them but didn't know how.

I went to my local lodge and applied to join after meeting with the lodges Master and was greeted with an incredibly inviting and friendly atmosphere by almost everyone. After having told my psychic, she let me know that they're what's considered a mystery school, and I didn't know what that meant. She pulled out a book of Enochian/Hermetic (I think?) magick from a person named Regardie and explained that they essentially teach a variation of what's in this book and said her grandfather was a mason, and said I didn't necessarily need to join them to progress further down my path of becoming a psychic. I was caught of guard and asked what she meant, as I wasn't joining them with the intent to further my path into psychic/spiritual phenomena since they were just a fraternity of men... And she told me they are into magick rituals and are very traditional and that kind of blew my mind, what a coincidence and what the fuck? We've got a bunch of politicians and bankers practicing magick? Man, if I had a buck for every time my mind has been blown up in the past 3 months and reality had to be reassembled anew, I'd have another comma in my bank account. I had no idea, part of me still doubts what she said but I guess I'll learn if they accept me... Who knows.

My other psychic, not the one with the grandfather mason, had told me that I should look into the rosicrucians as a lot of the symbolism in my encounters and dreams seems to have some semblance of similarities with their society. I have not looked too deeply into this one yet but it definitely seems interesting and after going to the freemason lodge the second time for an event I was invited to, having met some of their 33rd degree masons I sat down and one of them broke down the structure to me on how their fraternity worked and said I'd need to choose between the Scottish Rite and York Rite, and that's when he said some of the York Rite had titles related to rosicrucians and I was like wait a minute... Is there some overlap? Interesting!

If you have any resources that are more psychic focus instead of magick or other occult (again I'm still a novice so the lines blur to me making it difficult to determine what would be a good resource vs bullshit) I would greatly appreciate it!!

Either way thank you all for the warm welcome!

This is indeed my wheelhouse :)

I've been investigating this for thirty years or so. I don't really want to explain it here (partly because everyone here has heard it all before :-D ) but feel free to DM me :)
