Sun and vampires

I thought the "vampiric tendrils" thing was a fallacy created by Belanger?
Although, i do agree about the moon. I do not like the sun much, so the moon has always been my chosen and preferred.

I don't know about Belanger and while the tendril does seem a bit strange and inconvenient at first nothing would be able to stop you from creating and/or using one if you really wanted.
As far as I remember in the book it wasn't a single tendril but a horde of smaller tendrils growing naturally all over your astral body as a result of practicing vampirism and reaching out to your environment.

For what it's worth: I have read more than a few books about Taoist mystical and magical practices, and I can't say I have ever seen tendrils mentioned, especially in relation to environment. I could see how some directing of energy may seem like a tendril when connecting with another human. That said, I'm sure I have read only a fraction of what is available and there are many schools of Taoism.

On the other hand, I can think of at least a couple LHP grimoires that reference a tendril without mentioning Belanger. Whether they took the idea from her or arrived at it from personal experience or some tradition is anyone's guess. One in particular though I'm sure drew it from Carlos Castaneda's books, where energy tendrils are definitely a thing.

In some book about taoist vampirism I've read that after you start inhaling Qi or practicing anything vampiric in general, your astral body becomes more sensitive and sunlight basically "damages" your aura a bit, or at least it inhibits the many vampiric tendrils that emerge from your astral body. That's why after a while you supposedly start feeling uncomfortable and depressed when the sun is out, or something like that.
I myself always had a strong feeling that while the sun gives plenty of material life energy, it supresses and inhibits the spiritual and magical. Something like a physical matrix guardian... the moon always felt more healthy and wholesome to me, even though the moon just reflects sunlight. But it does it in a much healthier way, at least that's what's I think.

Sun inhibiting spirituality,.. that sounds quite possible. I'm sure that it does affect us spiritually, some might definitely feel grounded by it.

Does Mikal Nyght in Teachings of the Immortals not use "dayshine world" in a negative sense, and "nightside" or "night that never ends" in a positive sense for a reason? There must also be a reason why most magic and vampirism are usually undertaken by night, and the iconic image of the sunlight destroying the vampire might bear a little bit of truth. The sunlight is sometimes said to "blind" you while at night you can see. I also encountered the saying that sunlight burns you inside, while at night with the moonlight you can finally breathe.
One can try to explain it away as wishful thinking, self-delusion, placebo, or weakness in health or some sort of disease but of course we know that's nonsense. Doubts and trying to explain things away with "common sense" only block your own magic and harm your spiritual progress when in reality you know what's real.

The truth is, I got the same mindset way before I got into Mikal or Vampires. From the start of my spiritual journey, honestly. The starlight is sacred and liberating, while the Sun was in my opinion slave master, who forces you to work during the day, not allowing much time for yourself... and it offers illusion of colors and beauty of physical world luring you away from spirituality... It banishes the dreams...

Aging? What's that again?
Ah, I remember...it's the human program that goes something like "I age. Because I age, I become weaker and dumber and yet weaker again." It seems quite modern among humans. Modern in the sense of recent, but also "in mode". They follow this program to the grave. One might say they are DEAD serious about it. Indeed humans are formidably deadicated to following the mode.

Age aside and while I don't know if heatwaves have anything to do with sunlight as per intention of this thread in general the first thing that comes to mind with heat and cold sensitivity is simply a lack of energy which shouldn't be too hard to solve.

I would think it is a lot simpler than most think. My theory is that it is not that the sun is inherently harmful to you spiritually. But you are correct, a lot of magicians prefer working at night, including me. It is easier to enter trance when the sun is not beating down on you and it is easier to not be bothered due to most being asleep or tucked away cozily in their homes. And especially for me, i like the open air, but i do an open eyed meditation practice frequently, it is hard enough to kee my eyes open with the air blowing against my eyes, but even harder when the bright light of the sun is beating down on them too. So, maybe it isnt to say that being in contact with sunlight is bad, it just isnt ideal while doing workings. In my opinion, there is no need to cover the whole body or hide in the shadows, just do your mundane stuff in the sun, and your practice at night. The sun symbolizes light, light symbolizes being seen. The moon symbolizes age old wisdom and secrecy, the perfect time to do things most people do not understand or dont want to understand.
