Lilith seems to be one of the female Sumerian gods.

She rather liked human males and had a lot of short relationships.

The Jewish priests did not like her and called her a demon - as they did with most of the many gods around at that time.

It is a long time since there has been reported a physical encounter with her.

The Sumerian gods continue to grow taller as they age (e.g. the most high) so there may be a physical mis-match with Lilith these days

Really? I was under the impression a lot of people work with her these days, and that she was prone to making her presence very clear.

I don't know, I was very slow to start working with her, mostly because I had children, and coming to her as a traditional mother seemed, at best, insulting. As it turned out, she was fine with it. My sense is that, as with a lot of spirits with a powerful and increasingly mainstream presence, she's very aware of the world as it is now, and therefore is particularly easy to work with as a beginner. She's certainly not a traditionalist, in my experience! I'd advise one be respectful, that said, especially if you're a straight man.

She is indeed worked with by many on the Left Hand Path, and shyed away from by the Right Hand Path.
She can be evoked by use of mantras from Karlssons Qabalah, Qlippoth, and Goetic Magick.
Or, one can open the Qlippoth in order courtesy of VK Jehannum.

I encountered - or was rather awed by - the "physical manifestation" of Lillith at a strip club in Guam. Her avatar was a graceful and dynamically athletic performer with orange-red hair and sharp emerald green eyes with a beautifully evil face - her whole formed screamed of the same Fire of which the Sword of Eden was said to be made. (That is to say, in her exile she realized she was made of the same Fire - Geburah - I got that from Sledge in his two part series on her).
And the part that sealed my ecstatic association? She did her pole dance routine to Slayer's South of Heaven. I had never experienced a strip tease to thrash metal before or since. I was blown away at her swiftness, agility and violence. It was at about the song "Ghosts of War" when one of the club's patrons smacked her way too hard on the butt and she wheeled around and decked him in the jaw with her little fist. It almost turned into a real fight but the other patron's restrained the guy while she spat curses at him and then finished her dance.

Love that story @stalkinghyena ... I noticed with Lilith and Sitri a neighbor got very sexual or would randomly undress completely.

It would be recommended that people read Drawing Down the Moon. There is a cone of power ritual to be found therein, as well as the Goddess prayer that involves every goddess including Lilith.

Thanks DelFuego. Guam was fun, yeah. The beach, however, would not have been a good place for the actions of Sitri, however. Nothing but pale Japanese tourists all wearing the same conservative black bathing suits and white sun hats - it looked like a sea of giant penguins...

I prefer to ask for Pathworking, for fundamentally, if psychic senses are what are needed for evocation and invocation just ease over to one from a Pathworking. Easier.

Wonderfully said. Lilith is an enigmatic force who in my personal experience teaches one to cultivate personal power though integration of shadows.
Her energy is not to be taken lightly. But when when respected she helps one unshakle themselves from illusions and the bondage of the alchemical dross. She awoke my serpent flame within and is a powerful initiator in my experience.

Hello comrade, I know many people open debates about Lilith and her literary origins, but we must keep in mind that regardless of her name, she embodies an archetype that has existed since the very beginnings of the universe.

Lilith, Az, Tiamat, the devouring essence, the consort of Ahriman and Samael — all of them are also archetypes. Together they form the essence of the universe. Lilith’s predatory side and her independence are fascinating, wonderful, and represent a true liberation. Therefore, in my opinion, she is worthy of love and respect.

Hello, I'm new to the forum but no better place to start than here, I suppose!
I think anyone who predominantly works Left-hand can benefit greatly from a relationship with Lilith.
She has helped me in more ways than I could ever try to list. Respect must be mutual and especially strong on the practitioner's part initially for her to take you seriously!
I find fascinating the variety of different forms she appears to people in. To me, it's a form much more intimate and motherly than I've ever heard anyone ever speak of. To a friend, She'll appear in more threatening horns, wings, draping gown and all.
As Samael said above, She definitely does embody that striking feminine power, the feared temptress.
Reach out to Her if you feel a calling!

There is certainly no lack of material currently available. Some of the best have been shared here. Simply search the word Lilith and check the "titles only" box.

Furthermore, much is being made of the 2 volume work, "She of the Night". IMHO it looks excellent and I personally cannot wait to obtain it.

Otherwise, this "Library of Lilith" link compilation is helpful (legit & non-commercial) :

Not just LHP can benefit from relationship with Her, keep in mind that in some views She is not 'fallen' at all, never 'fell' in the Garden.

To me She is a Motherly Queen. Regal and awesome, but not in a frightening way at all. But then each has their own relationship with Her I guess.

I consider Her Demigod, Guiding Spirit, Patron Saint. And Queen of course, whom I Serve.

And in another view, it is actually the process of her Reconciliation/Liberation that ushers in the Ultimate Redemption (such as it may be). Here we get into certain interpretations of R. Nachman's "The Lost Princess" that strongly suggest that Lilith has, due to certain factors, forgotten (or been made to forget) her True Identity. Certainly, as the Kelipot of Malkuth, it could almost be doctrinal in certain Chassidic traditions that elevating this "spark" (or Ghost in the Shell) causes certain inevitable results in the Partzifum. And those inevitable results would, perhaps, be The Daughter set upon the Throne of the Mother, so to speak. Hence a type of Kabbalistic "Redemption" - or Reconfiguring.

Now posted in Book Shares is a superb work of "fiction" that has perpetually flown under the radar of those who would most enjoy, benefit from, and understand it.

The Shape-Changer's Wife (by the clever but obvious pseudonym "Sharon Shinn" ) is the book. It is short, fascinating, beautiful, and highly suggestive for those compelled towards its inner significance. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
