Hi guest! As you can see, the new Wizard Forums has been revived, and we are glad to have you visiting our site! However, it would be really helpful, both to you and us, if you registered on our website! Registering allows you to see all posts, and make posts yourself, which would be great if you could share your knowledge and opinions with us! You could also make posts to ask questions!
No.
The only real bad distraction is a smartphone, that gets into your head. everything else is a noise your brain is naturally evolved to ignore if you let it.
Ok that's admittedly a lame thing to say. Sorry. I just don't want to go down that road. I do feel comfortable talking about small powers tho.
For example, consider what happens when you concentrate your attention - on the words on this screen, or on a thought, or on a game you're playing, or walking and balancing on top of a skinny wall . You do it better, right? You understand the words better, you think better, you play the game better, your balance is better.
Well that's interesting, right? That's a magic power right there. Something is happening to your seeing and control there. Something really big and important.
Here it is from another angle. We have all experienced occasional magic powers. We have all seen the future, had telepathy with friends and crazy dreams. So the next step is to get control of that. Meditation can do that.
I'm doing it now using The void as focus point. I sit without movement and just observe my breath and thoughts for some moments before visualizing that I enter or become one with The void and just stay there for about 25 or so minutes before starting to come back leaving there anything I don't want to dissolve or transform in it and also I bring or "create" from it what I want to include in me (if there is something at the moment). then with that mood I start another short meditation/ceremony where movement is allowed. I also add some short banishing before and after everything. all the process is about 40/45 minutes long
