This is the way that I tend to interpret these attributes, yes. I would say that your example is a great use case scenario for applying that particular talisman, and shows a very good understanding of how to interpret their meanings.

I know I might sound naive or radical to some, but I will share my opinion. To me, when reading about the properties and abilities of spirits and forces in authentic traditional grimoires, one should, first and foremost, take them quite literally. There are many more suitable spirits and pentacles specifically aimed at influencing human relationships. If "earthquake" is written, that is likely exactly what the grimoire means. The problem lies in our inability to activate a spirit—or compel it—to achieve extraordinary results that seem impossible to us at first glance. This makes us prone to downplaying the spirits' power and inventing more mundane abilities that we find easier to accept as plausible.

Grimoires just change or add their own meaning to things because they don't have all the answers.. they copy bits and pieces of information of old and since they dont have the entire context, they add their own meanings. Grimoires are majority fictional works.. that have derived concepts, ideas, symbols, images, pentacles and scraps of writing from ancient spiritual texts.. much of which have monotheistic abrahamic origins.

That's why intent is important and knowing what the attributes of those planetary bodies are.

But since humans are the Creator’s vicegerents in the universe, the demons need our will for things to happen; otherwise, the earth would shake every hour unless we appeased the demons.

Yet every entity does indeed have a planetary sign and another that indicates its powers—whether some or all of them.
Ultimately, however, they are living, interactive, and powerful entities capable of personal choice.
For example, the “Bringer of Rain” might create a potent dose of love for you, or he might go and strike your enemy and destroy his wall...!

Or he might guide you to a hidden treasure or bring you someone who knows about it and help you negotiate?

Everything depends on the extent of his willingness to do so, for he can also refuse.
And if you force the entity to act, remember that you have angered a duke, a king, or a prince. He will not forget what you have done and will recall it when the time is right.
