A while back, I designed a magical alphabet, since I wanted my grimoire to be secret and look beautiful to me. About a year ago, I began constructing sigils with it, so I figured I’d share one. In addition, I ask if anyone here are built their own magical alphabet?

In the future, I would suggest not sharing your home-grown language, sigils, etc, as someone could use them to curse/hurt/etc you.

To answer your question, I did create my own language for my recordings. I did have help from some demons, so anyone messing with my stuff will get at least a migraine.

I find sigils writ with a combination of runes and Carolingian minuscule aesthetically appealing. The rune is the one appropriate to the work's purpose, the minuscule letters the actual formula for what is being effected.

D.H. Thorne has a lot to say about sigil scripts in his "Become the Maelstrom" (starting on p. 200, it's in the Library). For example, he suggests that you create your own personal sigil that stands for your identity as a magician, like a Chinese chop. I think a personal sigil script is a great idea and would like to create one for myself one day but I can imagine that a lot of work will have to go into the artistic process. What's more, my magical identity is still hazy and undefined, so I don't have a lot to express in such a script. On the other hand, it might be a helpful exercise in spite of all that, I can always design a more advanced one as I progress on my path.

I use Theban for my alphabet for words used around a Sigil and the Rose Cross Sigil creation method for Sigils

Though I agree if you want to keep writings really secretive then creating your own original Cipher is a great idea.

I don’t share my personal work though and don’t really interact with local people who study Occult knowledge so for my purposes Theban is fine.

Good. I picked up the conceit somewhere that magick bruited abroad was magick short-circuited.

Hear, hear. The more random people get involved in a magical act, the less likely their contributions are to be helpful.

I think it's not necessarily the quality of the people involved, just the fact that they are not in sync and thus acting as random noise that the 'signal' of the magical act will get degraded and lost in.

Traditionally it is proper to keep secret important spiritual objectives.

The first stage usually is building the thought form. When this is built, emotional and then etheric energy may be accrued as appropriate, to precipitate the desired result

If at an early stage the thought form is exposed to dissenters, they may damage it and let the energy escape.

Better to keep important matters secret until they have eventuated

People who are marginally competent and/or undisciplined have a rougher time syncing. That's why most magickal training emphasizes such topics as thought-control and concentration. Weed out the congenitally inept; subject the recalcitrant to attrition.

Ah, ok! I meant just any old Tom Dick or Harry - not people who were meant to be taking part in the magical act - so yes, try not to have rubbish people in your group, and don't tell anyone else 🙂

Oh, missed your point. I should fence with rapiers not wits. In the former, missing a point is a survival skill, not an embarrassing faux pas.
