Algol – The Demon Star

I've been diving a bit more into fixed stars lately, especially the star that rules my astrological chart. I can't say I'm surprised to learn that the infamous Algol has a heavy presence in my personal cosmos. Please enjoy my little write up on this star (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Known as the Demon Star or Eye of Medusa, Algol is the most malefic star in the Heavens, connotative with violent ends and beheading. Located in the constellation of Perseus, Algol represents the severed head of Medusa. It is associated with intense and violent energies, transformation and rebirth, life and death, madness and wisdom. It is an eclipsing binary star whose fluctuating brightness is believed to herald misfortune when dimmed.

Algol embodies all things men fear in the feminine. She is not the gentle mother, but rather the ardent lover. Algol is the wild, raw, untamed face of the outraged feminine.

Algol gives success to petitions, heightens personal magnetism, offers protection against harm and malign influences, and reflects malefic spells. It rules diamond, black hellebore and mugwort.

Those born on the day Algol rises with the sun are inflamed with passion and intensity. They either create or destroy. They will encounter intense situations throughout their life. In its most unrestrained expression, Algol may manifest as the female demon: destroying in a bloody, ruthless manner.
