I have bought a copy of the Ars Notoria by Matthias Castle which contains both versions A and B. I was wondering if anyone had experience with performing the rite and what your results were?

I am looking to see if I can gain higher IQ or perhaps some supernatural ability to understand things as promised in the books. Although it's a long undertaking so I'd appreciate anyone's experience with it.

Any idea where I can find a PDF version of Matthias Castle edition of Ars Notoria?

Says where to find it here. If it’s not available there for some reason let me know and I’ll upload it to mega for you.

What @beardedeldridge said. Please make a request in the appropriate section, few people will read your reply here. Be sure to search the Library and welib.org first before requesting, books are so easy to find these days it's ridiculous.

I haven't used the Ars Notoria, but I can personally attest to using magic for accelerating learning of particular topics, grasping metacognitive skills to enhance how quickly you can gather information, and having spirits direct you to rare gems. The memorization aspect will have to come from normal repetition, but after a while you'll have to repeat information less and less to retain it, and also increase your stamina for how much you can learn.

I should also add that the repetition aspect can come naturally from any long-term, rigorous curriculum continuously being forced into your head. I used spirits heavily while getting my doctorate, but I also noticed that my peers were getting much more efficient and effective at learning just by having to maintain themselves within the same program. I didn't have to worry as much about studying, exams, or finding the right study materials, but the groundwork for accelerated learning was already established. Spirits and magic can't displace laziness in this case.

oh 100% not going to be lazy, im willing to work as hard as possible if i see a future with it. Ive been studying many artists and have been practicing a lot on my music production skills and such. But, i find it interesting that the sprits led you to good resources, helped you develop good metacognitive skills, and assisted you in accelerated learning. this is exactly what I need; how did you do this, with what spirits, and most importantly where did you get this from, any and all books will help, i need as much as possible relating to the subject, sorry for the long message. Thank you!

My approach was two-fold, trying to learn a particular topic and trying to get good as a magician, so my recommendations are keeping both of those in mind. I would recommend starting with spirits who naturally rule over the particular domain you're interested in. After you've gotten success, you can start experimenting with spirits who don't rule over that domain, and see what unique perspective they can offer on it. For the metacognitive skills, I would recommend taking on a strong grasp of a particular tradition, learn it inside and out, and then go to spirits within the system to reveal more information about the system itself. Afterwards, use your enhanced understanding of the system to find even more experimental information about your domain of interest.

I don't have any particular books on this, since that will change based on the tradition you're naturally more predisposed to. If you were interested in the traditions I practice, I could give more insight.

I see, what traditions did you practice?
I havent practiced any specific traditions yet as im still a few months into learning so im open to all.

Maybe ill research spirits associated with music and memory.

If you're that new, just learn whatever interests you! Magic is a very particular calling for me, that I didn't know would be such a major part of my life until months and months of being absolutely addicted to learning and experimenting with it. Even now after a decade I get excited about new things to learn. Explore it and play around, and if you end up loving it, more opportunities should open up for you to play around more! You may find out that magic didn't really call to you, but it felt like the means to the end for your REAL calling, like music, fitness, or anything else.

I tried to use Stephen Skinner's version. The instructions werent very clear. It involved lots of chanting of names at different times. I didnt do the whole thing as it is suggested in the grimoire. In terms of results I think it did impact on me. I wasnt clear about what kind of focus I was interested in - I was just keen to know if it worked. I stopped studying other things and became very focussed on magic of all kinds. It probably pushed me down that road quite forcefully. Stopped watching the news and things like Netflix and spent (still do this to a lesser extent) large amounts of time reading and hunting down magic books. I think the Ars Notoria contributed to that shift in focus.
I found going through the various names of power - without knowing much about who they were - was a bit of an adventure. Definitely intoxicating reading them all repetitively ... and beginning to make them feel familiar. I didnt get a dream at the beginning to say if I could go ahead - as speified in the book. I still went ahead. My wife says the interest in magic is a bit obssessive - I dont know how uch of htat is down to the Ars Notoria.
