So well said!
I'm not the best in observing, I assume, because I didn't see this before myself, yet you are right. It actually makes a lot of sense. The overall situation is slowly worsening for the most people, affordability of stuff, of managing money for family, getting a house... life becomes harder to afford. Not to mention social networks, that are ruining mentality of the people and AI that is taking away jobs so fast that new are not appearing fast enough to replace. Toxicity sells. If you don't know how to run YT channel, you can keep yourself by throwing dirt on others.
I agree that more and more people get into constant survival mode and in such the kindness and good will erodes. Person is more and more capable of doing anything as the usual moral blocks are bypassed by the biological drive for survival, much much older than humanity itself. So not surprising for me that people are turning more vampiric against each other. Makes sense. Poor food, poor monetary conditions, poor relationships, toxic culture... no wonder they are low on energy and need to feed. This kind of vampirism is sad to witness.
Awareness is not the solution, but it definitely is on the way to it. For this vampirism to stop the energy deficit has to stop. Proper food, right payment for the job, mental heath, etc. depends on what is person lacking.
I truly appreciate the depth of what you shared. You’re touching on something very real.
I agree that many people are living under increasing pressure — economically, socially, psychologically. When survival becomes the dominant mode, something essential gets pushed aside. Kindness, patience, long-term vision… they require inner resources. And when those resources feel scarce, people tend to react from instinct rather than conscious choice.
That said, I don’t believe this “vampiric” dynamic is inevitable or permanent. It’s a symptom of energetic depletion. When people feel unseen, underpaid, overstimulated, disconnected from meaning, they compensate in unhealthy ways. Toxicity can become a shortcut to visibility or control.
I also believe, based on my own experiences, that vampirism as a concept has been underestimated. Blood symbolically represents life force, energy — and I sometimes wonder whether the vampire has always been an archetype of something that has silently existed throughout history, but today manifests in a stronger and more dominant way.
I think the shadow within each of us must be integrated. But when it is wounded, confused, or allowed to dominate, the will loses its natural flow, and dynamics such as energetic vampirism can emerge almost as a compensatory process. Some people consciously learn to harness this darker current. Others are not even aware of it and unknowingly become inexhaustible drains of energy.
What strikes me is that I notice this more and more. Yet when I try even gently to point out these dynamics, it often turns against me, or people grasp only a small fraction of what I’m trying to say. It can be frustrating. We know life is made of choices, but choosing to work with the light, to remain aware, seems to be becoming increasingly demanding — at times even oppressive.
Power has always sought to dominate knowledge, and today knowledge itself feels like a constant target. It’s difficult to accept, but sometimes it feels as though these “vampiric” dynamics are more widespread than ever — not in a literal sense, but as a pervasive energetic pattern. Because today, the forces that weaken willpower are subtle, pervasive, and often invisible. They operate through lack — through fear, through the feeling of not being enough.
Perhaps the real challenge is to recognize these dynamics without being consumed by them, and to remain centered. If vampirism arises from deficiency, then the response may be the restoration of inner integrity and personal sovereignty.
