That's a cool idea

I'll admit, once upon a time at a public exhibition of the arts I saw a magnificent headdress donated and blessed by a local tribe for display.

They quills were cut and bound similar to this though this is flattened rather than cut on the arch.

It has finally found it's way into the hands of the shaman who holds the rest of the charm it is for.

Also, make the coil before you put it on/over the quill of the feather.
