In your opinion, what is the best way to incubate or induce a specific type of dream (for example, returning to childhood, playing a sport, or having explicitly erotic dreams, etc.)? I am not referring to lucid dreaming, but rather to having a dream follow a direction induced while awake—where situations and characters vary, but the induced theme remains constant. I have tried many techniques, but none have worked; I am currently experimenting with a sigil created for a specific dream theme. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on your methods.

This is something I had plans for myself, but my path took me in a more self-developmental direction before I got it off the ground.
Initially though, my intent was to induce dreams of reading. There have been a handful of times I have read something in a dream and all of them have proven profound. I wanted to see if there were a way to read in a dream on purpose, possibly to read even real books without ever having to open them in the waking world.
I was going to use a combination of lucid dreaming techniques and a high-focus, long term manifestation technique I was going to adapt from a Japanese past time of making mud balls.

I have my fingers crossed I'm relatively close to getting back to this project, and I'm eager to hear what kinds of techniques you've tried yourself, failures or not.
