Carantanian-Carniolan deities-Kresnik/Kersnik

Does anyone have any knowledge on this topic?
As someone who is a descendant of this heritage I would really appreciate if someone knows a little bit more than me.
I have only heard about the deity Kresnik/Kersnik. He is an old deity in relation to the summer solstice, fire, sun and also storm. His appereance is described as either goldenhaired or goldenarmed gods' son who fights evil spirits and brings fertile soil and harvest. Many argue that he could be a counterpart of more well known slavic god Perun/Svarun
There are also other beings which hold a similar name Kresniki (multiple). Those are believed to be gifted individuals with spiritual powers who also fought against evil.
If I connect this topic a little bit to the modern times. In our country the highest and most prestige award for literature is named Kresnik. The award ceremony is held every year on the so caled Kresna noč (bonfire night-a direct translation) which is on 23rd of June. I find it interesting that we can se traces of the old deity yet know so very little about it.
Do the other slavic mythos also have Kersnik? And if anyone knows anything more about the Carantanian-Carniolan deities or can direct me to any literature I would highly appreciate it.

Interesting Lore, sadly it is the first time I have heard of Kresnik/Kersnik.
Judging by your description he is a powerful Nature God. Looking deeper into it, he seems to be Patron of the enlightened and creative.
He also contradicts darkness and evil. By hosting a bonfire at night and by lending his name to those that fight evil.
I do remember is appearance from somewhere... most like from paintings in eastern orthodox churches, he could be a god-like figure there.

You seem to have a connection to Kersnik.
Have you tried making contact with him?

Great point! I will look into how, when and where was he depicted in paintings. For now what I know of there is only one historical painting that kind of depicts him? But to me it looks more like Kresniki (multiple) so gifted individuals helping others in fighting of evil. The depiction is inspired from an old story Pegam and Lambergar, where Kersnik is mentioned.
I can add a photo or url if you are interested.
I haven't tried making contact with him as I don't know how to go about it. I am quite new to this and I was hoping to lay down the theory before getting into anything.
In the end I was hoping that maybe I could get new info and I have to admit I was a little bit dissapointed that no one else has brought up this topic. I guess it's very region wise specific.

Yes I would like to see a photo of how you think he looks.
But bear in mind the depiction of a god can never be fully accurate, as they are not of this world.

I can understand your dissapointment. Maybe you can find other informations here about related gods.
Many versions of the same deity exists all across different cultures. Sometimes they just change their name, but occupy the same area as before.
If you are still looking for theory about Kersnik, maybe broaden your scope and look around other deities. Even if the culture is not related to yours, they mostly likely describe the same being just with other facets.

A good start could be:
Sun gods like Helios, Apollo or Sól. (To see how other believes approach the Sun)
Wise gods like Athena, Odin or Toth. (To learn how god can be a teacher)
And other Patrons of Light and Good.
