It's seems clear, to me, that ahathoor is speaking generally about the subject matter and not indirectly about any person here. I know this because their experience mirrors my own over the past several years with this modern tumblr/tiktok tulpamancy trend. It's been my experience that in large part this modern trend is not related to any occult practices, and often times it is taught and practiced as explicitly not occult. There's a big spectrum in this and on one end it is quite literally a fantasy people are engaging with, that's the intended purpose of it, and there are very real potential dangers for some people engaging in some of these practices. I think this is why they recommended looking into "internal family systems" work, which is a well researched, evidence based(therefore safer) analogue of this mental-only version of that practice.
Clearly the op and yourself have been offended, and the op feels singled out beause that poster mentioned fanart. Such fanart is almost universal in connection with these practices, that in no way indicates they were targeting the op. In fact the comment that they weren't throwing shade on anime fan art itself serves to reinforce this distinction (...these things I disagree with associated with fanart; not that fanart in general is bad *for readers here. - is how I read it). I can't speak for them, but as far as I'm concerned the you are talking about magical practices, the op talked about magical practices. The thing I'm referring to is not the same thing you guys are talking about. People use the same words to refer to very different things. Like how "chaos magick" has simply become wishful thinking in a lot of tiktok circles today, and that's literally all anyone new thinks chaos magick is now. Many people only associate the word tulpamancy with practices designed for mental entertainment, rather than anything related to the occult beyond the name. I've encountered it multiple times in recent years in different communities. There is a version of this which at the EOD is quite literally not a magical practice, and doesn't have a place in occult discussion. I didn't say that's on display here, and I don't read anyone else saying that on this thread. I quite literally encouraged the discussion to continue in my first post, after stating my piece that there are many layers to this onion, and some of them stink lol.
As for what a mod might do, I certainly can't speak for any of them. But I'm sure they're all quite capable of discerning people's intentions from their comments. If they thought someone was attacking or bullying another member, directly or indirectly, that goes against etiquite rule #1 of not being a dick. But regardless of the rules, they quite literally have the power to do whatever they want here.
I wouldn't be the one quoted if that was the case. If you read the past messages it was specific enough the blind can read between the lines. What you're saying doesn't add up. I would've been having this convo with ahathoor, not you. If I'm wrong, I'll take that.
Here's the thing. Like he/she said in the post, which I agree with.
Ahathoor said:
the loudest people I've seen in these groups were extemely unstable and fragile personalities, setting dangerous and deleterious examples in both practice and general human lifestyle, that weird obsessions and memetic ideas seemed to abound, and in general it looked like a malware-ridden darkweb warez site for the human psyche, entirely populated by people who either have no idea about security, or think it's irrelevant to them.
When they wrote that...that wasn't a reference to the op, or I. That was to other people in the thread, then and after. It's preemptively shooting someone down. We weren't even talking all that much. But, what I did say sounds fake..cool, but I don't care. People ask and now message me bc they don't want to sound immature. That's what that kind of talk leads to. I don't mind people messaging me, but I'm not copying and pasting it in relevant threads for others. It'll be easier to do it here.
You talked Daoist but didn't know tulpas exist in Daoist practice? I practiced many traditions from a traditional teachers...but I don't talk about it. The point is you never know who's on the other side. I too am a Daoist, that's why I asked you before from where. It'll tell me what you know and how you're taught. That way I can properly address your style of wu. I learned various creations of artificial beings from all over Asia. I don't need to say it though. But when someone shoots down potential learners, and gives crap advice like ahathoor...that hurts the practice and potentially people who don't realize it can turn on you. Western books don't really talk about that. And they especially don't advise not to use them for attacking other occult practitioners, because they're easy to take control of and reverse on the caster.
Spirit traps, co trung/gu poison, shikigami, etc.. I trap entities artificial and organic, and make use of others spells and spirits. Pretty handy in my opinion. But the western basic servitor, or egregore, isn't all that interesting to people because they only heard it from Western sources...which suck at explaining what you can do with it. You can also use it for divination of weather, the sex identity of a child, finding people or items. The western doesn't teach that, or I've yet seen it anywhere on western platforms.
The op is talking about another type that can merge with your headspace (I probably described it wrong). Just because it's different it doesn't make it incorrect. Dangerous in the wrong hands, granted. Intention means everything with these practices. Any occult path can cause health issues, both mind and/or body.
I can't speak for the op, but I came to share and connect. That type of post wasn't just on this thread. Other people found me through other threads mentioning the same crap via message.
Now some are too shameful to share or ask real questions. Cool, but who misses out? The next person who wants to learn. That's the whole point.
What ahathoor wrote wasn't relevant to the topic at the time it was written if it wasn't to push one's weight around. There were barely any messages here. Talking like one knows it all and shuns another's practice is ego tripping and insecure.
If that's really what you took from that post and not trying to spin it to play games.. then I can't explain it in a way that clicks for you.
If you're just trying to argue, I got all day and night. I don't have to chase money so we can go anytime, anythread.. It gets me hot, and keeps me on my toes...ready whatever spanky.
