Does Ether/Aether still exist?

I heard a lot of time, even in my friend circle some of my friends believe... that Ether the 6th element do exist and they said, it was intentionally being removed from the text books and other things due its connection to occultism or self reflection ... some says Ether helps us in astral projection ... etc etc

So, dear wizards of intellectuality ... does anybody knows the actual mystery behind it ???

I m very curious to know and learn about it....

The Buddhist Abhidhamma has a quite modern elemental division that focusses on material properties instead on matter per se:

Earth: hardness or softness.
Water: fluidity or cohesion, holds holds the particles of matter together. Since it's such an abstract quality, it can never be experienced directly, only inferred.
Fire: heat and cold.
Air: causes movement and pressure, pushes, distorts or supports.

The 5th element is said to be space itself. I've never heard of a sixth one though.

So maybe it's fundamental to reality (hence idealism), or maybe it doesn't exist (hence materialism).
I'm pretty sure those aren't the only two choices :)

And, IMO, I agree that you can't prove/disprove the existence of qualia any more than you can prove/disprove the existence of God. What you can have a go at instead is explain what these things are.

The way I look at it is this:

Firstly, the Thomas Theorem (which is not actually a theorem, but hey): "If people define a thing to be real, then the consequences of that thing are real."

This means that there are things that are real, even though they don't exist - like money :)

The kicker, is that the "consequences" can also be magical in nature, so producing sequences of events which appear to have been initiated by the supernatural. What we normally talk about as "belief" is "defining a thing to be real" to the point where we accept it as real.

if you look at a lot of writing holistically and with the assumption that there is indeed a central truth that occult and esoteric philosophies all provide a window into, there is almost universally a reference to an extra-physical energy field that provides the basis for magical workings. what could they all be referring to?

when i examine my awareness, i notice that there is always a central form in focus. bubbling out from that form is a field of increasingly subtle energy. it is this field of energy that contracts when i move my body or think, and that carries the meaning of signs and symbols.

can't prove/disprove qualia? i am triggered! (he said jokingly, knowing the rules (please don't ban me))

i mean i think i get what you mean, in that experience is subjective and we can't know the contents of another's mind and all

but talking about it like that feels very Enlightenment era.

for one thing it is the only thing that is directly proven to each and every one of us in every conscious moment. also the notion of "proof" itself relies on a perception of events within time ie qualia. if you need qualia to prove something then you go and prove something to someone, then by Aumann's Agreement Theorem you both started with the same priors (axioms), of which qualia is one.

Yes, it is where you gather aethereal energy from. When we can pull energy out of thin air, that is aether. There is an unlimited amount of it.. except for in desolate places..

The amount of ethereal energy one can harness and contain is limited by the individual and his or her own capabilities.

If a person is physically tired, this can also limit the amount they can contain at a given time. Why? theres parts of our brain that need to be active to manipulate this energy..

Its the type of energy that if you dont contain or control it, it just disperses .. So it requires alot of focus and control, the control comes from a combination of the brain and the lower Dan tian (from Eastern philosophy.. also related to Jing and Qi.
