Author Experiences with Jacobus Swart

Does anyone have any experiences or anecdotes for Jacobus Swarts “Book of Psalms” or “Book of Immediate Magic”? The books are each 500+ pages long and it’s a lot to digest! I’m honestly somewhat looking for a shortcut lol

See my post on the book of psalms. I have been working through the 2 books of immediate magic. They are an aquired taste, but I have found them to be some of the most effective magic in achieving results. Yohach - and Kalach - is/are very effective. There is a calling when you have 'a problem' that I have found remarkable. I have used it for all sorts of things - traffic jams, losing things, things breaking down.... - All to good effect. Damien Brand has borrowed the to do a protection ritual that I also use. He (Swart) also gently introduces you to a deep reading of the Kabbalah that puts you in a strong position for improvising and using your own magic...and peronal growth. I have learened how to read the hebrew letters because of working with his books.... a bit of an adventure. ... I am struck by the similarities between the Kabbalah and the use of letters and names of Allah in the Shams Al Marif. They clearly have influenced each other in their history.

I will check that out! I am very interested in the book of immediate magic too. Do you do ritual bathing or any preparation before the calls? I also agree, I love understanding the mechanism of why things work so I could possibly replicate them and his books make it very clear on how to do so! I am not so familiar with the 99 names and the Shams al-Marif but they have now been added to my research list! I do know of a popular Islamic occultist/astrologer named Ali A. Olomi that touches on Islamic mysticism if you're interested.

I found his works from Gallery of Magick, so safe to say I'm not the most experienced lol. In terms of preparation, do you mean the preparation he speaks on in the books?

It is the best one and it comes without negative side effects. You just need to find something in the book that works effectively each time for what you need. Usually, in every book, you can find something like that.

You would probably do best to start in the first book in the series called "The Book of Self Creation", which forms a practical basis for the rest of the book in the series. They all kind of build on that in a sense, even though each is kind of self-standing in their own ways. But I would really say the others are more compendiums of information (except for the "Immediate Magic" books). But they all kind of build on the theoretical and practical foundations laid down there.

Yes sorry for the lack of clarification, but precisely I meant the "Shadow Tree" series.

Probably some of the most dense books I've ever come across. The guy puts an incredible amount of detail into his books and they take quite a bit of time to digest. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for something quick. Gallery of Magick provides much quicker means and methods for practical results, but with Swart you're getting an entire college-level course on Kabbalah before you touch on any practical work. The Book of Self Creation will give you the fundamentals and is the starting point for the rest of his work which, if you're gonna stick with him, I highly recommend you start with as well (if that's your flavor). If you got the free time, do it. If not, or you're impatient like me, There's GoM and plenty of other options out there.

His books are completely outside my shamanic/heathen context, but I enjoy studying outside my own tradition/practices. But Swart is so prolific it was just hard to distinguish a good place to begin. Appreciate the insight.

I'd go by the numbering. All his books are numbered (Volume 1, Volume 2, and so on), and the first one is The Book of Self Creation.

Ah, I did not realize that all of his books were part of the Shadow Tree series. Thanks for the clarification.
