For me, it’s my Magickal Journal. It contains so many of my own deepest experiences and being able to go back to it and re-assess conversations I’ve had with spirits, or see how I performed an incantation last time I used one, or just writing down notes from occult books I'm reading has brought me so much illumination and utility.

Honestly have no idea how I could practice magick without it.

If you didn't write it down, did it even happen?

I'll second this too, a journal is fantastic and not just for the evaluation of potential cognitive dissonance.

I have a stone that I keep on my altar that I call my "home stone". When I was a teenager leaving home to go away to college, I walked around our yard and found a nice stone that I could take with me to remind me of home and to keep me "grounded." I've taken that stone with me to every place I've lived. I'm 59 years old now and that stone is in a place of honour on my household altar.
