Hello and good timezones!

I'm really interested into getting into glamour magic (if mainly to help this horrific acne that even prescription medications can't seem to touch... Or just affirmations and the ritual of it).

The thing is, a lot of glamour magic rituals and books are very much aimed at femininity, or "divine feminine" things (I have my own gripes about divine feminine and divine masculine, I can make a separate post if anyone wants to hear it).

I want to know if there are any glamour magic books, articles, or otherwise that either don't have a lot of the gendered language or feeling to it, or take into account that people may not always feel tied to femininity.

Or if anyone here has experience, that'd be good too.

One of my favorite Glamour Magic books, when starting out, was โ€˜Enchantment: The Witchโ€™s Art of Manipulating Through Gesture, Gaze, and Glammourโ€™ by Peter Paddon.

Though, admittedly, it has been some time since I have read it I donโ€™t recall it being heavily gendered one way or another. It was neutral and is a guide for anyone looking to delve into this type of magic.

As far as the other resources aimed towards a more feminine nature, you can still utilize the rituals and spells but deconstruct and adapt them to your needs, desires, and wants. At the end of the day, we all read and learn and adapt it to our own will.

There's a very easy glamour which involves finding a picture of someone you want to emulate, like a celebrity. Tape the picture to your mirror at eye level just off center, light a candle and turn off the lights. Then you chant a spell while staring at the picture, and afterwards move your gaze to your own eyes and continue staring at yourself for a couple minutes(the goal at this point is to have a relaxed, unfocused gaze.) I'd recommend writing a rhyming spell yourself, with whatever language is comfortable, with the point being that you're taking on that person's handsome looks, or charm or charisma etc. This works best when you do it daily for a little while. Focusing on healing for your acne would probably also help you. Maybe find a an affirmation, prayer, or mantra to use when you wash your face, and treat it like a daily banishing ritual.

I personally would to hear about someone else thoughts on that but its up to you so no pressure.
Sure! I'll send it as a reply and if you think it warrants a post I'll make a thread with it

I do not like the common interpretations of divine feminine and divine masculine. I find both to be incredibly limiting, based in bioessentialism, and they depend on definitions of masculinity and femininity from a specific demographic.

Now a large part of this has to do with the fact that I myself am genderqueer, and thus, I do not feel strongly connected to how masculinity and femininity are presented in the systems and society around me. And it is certainly possible that these concepts are seen in vastly differently ways in cultures outside of my own.

Which is why I say I do not like the common interpretations of these concepts.

For starters, a person is not inherently closer to, or further away from the gods based whether or not they have a certain pouch in their pelvic cavity. A pouch that mind you, is smaller in volume than a baseball...

A certain set of genitalia is not a โ€œportalโ€ to the heavens or to the gods. It is also not something that makes anyone inferior just on the basis of them having this set of genitalia. It just a natural part of a human body.

In a similar vein, a person is not inherently superior, or closer to the gods because they have a different set of genitalia. They are not somehow more suitable of being leaders or โ€œholy servantsโ€ because their DNA dictated that they developed a certain way. A person is not automatically better because they can produce cells that can cause a pregnancy in another person. Again, it is just a natural part of a human body.

I also find that the common interpretations of these concepts depend on definitions of femininity and masculinity that are very western. Very white. Definitions of such that fall apart the minute that anyone is non-conforming in their expression or their identity, or is anyone other than white. This doesnโ€™t even begin to get into the intricacies of people who are intersex, which can range from conditions as uncommon as complete estrogen insensitivity syndrome, to something as common as PMOS (formerly PCOS).

It is my understanding that these terms used to mean something different, and they still mean something different in certain groups. In some cases it has a much more literal definition โ€“ of divine beings that are either masculine or feminine. Or the feminine and masculine aspects of these divine beings. But I still find that people turn to very strict and specific interpretations to define the masculinity and femininity of the divine.

People always say that femininity in the divine is this or that. And they say that masculinity in the divine are these things and those things. But they never explain why those things are feminine or masculine. They never explain what makes those things inherently feminine or masculine.

There are plenty of goddesses of war โ€“ something people associate with masculinity. And there are plenty of gods of fertility โ€“ something people associate with femininity.

Now none of this is to say that peopleโ€™s connection to their masculinity or femininity should not be incorporated into their practices at all. In fact if the incorporation is affirming, and does not bring others down, I can see why it would help many people โ€“ especially those who are gender-nonconforming or have variations in how they identify with their gender.

I just find that the common way I see people talking about divine femininity and divine masculinity to be very constricting, and sometimes bordering on fetishistic.

I believe it often helps to look at things "one step removed", with the understanding that everything you encounter is just someone's personal opinion or experience, and you have the power to reframe, reinterpret and transgress anything and everything. Of course nobody is made somehow higher or more holy by their biology - there have simply been people who used their own bodies as magical tools, and reasoned about it using the (typically cisgendered, essentialist) concepts that were available to them at the time.

The situation is similar with people talking about feminine and masculine principles; they were expressing something that made sense to them, based on how they thought about life, dualities, society, humans, etc.

We are quite blessed by the fact that a good number of deities transgressing the gender binary, like Aphrodite or Dionysus in the Greek pantheon... Also, following up on bodies as magical tools, while this depends entirely on one's relationship with one's body, it is possible to understand one's own trans body as inherently magical and empowering; "trans" as in "beyond", transcending the binary, and thus giving you a powerful way to magically define your place in a context that may at first have seen hostile or exclusionary.

I think the key idea is to see magical concepts not as an obstacle course, but as a playground. You are allowed to mess with things, and look at them from any perspective. And of course, you are also allowed to disregard things you don't like for any reason. If a spell that just reeks of second wave feminist essentialism rubs you the wrong way, don't let it make you think you are any less suited to magical work because of it.

I've been playing around with biokinesis for about two years now. Specifically utilizing magic to trigger body modification. This kind of goes hand in hand with glamour magic.

My wife and I have had some pretty mind breaking results with it, its definitely doable - and I feel unexplored territory to the extreme we've been taking it. But it does have limitations. For example - you're not going to be able to conjure yourself into a deviant art OC. The principles of biokinesis and magic for modifying the body/physical aesthetic follow natural magic laws. You can use magic to accelerate hormone production, weight loss or weight gain, and even spot train certain places. Here's some experiments we've run with success.

1. Breast augmentation
2. Belly fat elimination
3. Hair thickening/growing
4. Muscle hypertrophy

Failed experiments:
1. Increased penis size
2. Increased height

Now this is a multipronged magical process. As with all magic it will not work if there is no action taken. We have utilized a combination of conjuration, hypnosis, poppets, and mild physical action to achieve these results. Breast augmentation was the easiest, muscle hypertrophy the hardest as it was supplemental to working out. It accelerated the rate of growth with no increase in dietary intake but still required 3 hours of working out a week.

So there are two different energies you're going to need to work this kind of magic - Venus and Mars.
The grand mystery of Venus is she is in charge of hylemorphism - that is the incorporation of the spiritual to the physical bodies. She is the energy you will utilize the MOST of when performing this type of magic. Her spirits have the ability to stimulate hormones, analyze physiology, and create change in bodies. On top of this utilizing hypnosis has proved crucial to these methods. A large part of our inspiration for the development of these techniques came from a research study we uncovered from the 1970s in which a group of medical scientists discovered a 100% success rate with breast augmentation utilizing only visualization and hypnosis on a group of women aged 18-50. This lends to the idea of placebo effect and the power of the mind over physiology but I have found that adding the layer of conjuration and sympathetic magic has controlled the results and directed them the way we wanted them to go. The power of Venus within this realm is specifically reflected in the biology of the human woman - it is through the womb that souls are incorporated into bodies and this is why Venus/Aphrodite's grand highest mystery is the process of hylemorphism and why man or woman would approach her to create changed in the physiology of their being. This is reflected in the myth of Pygmalion.

Now then what does Mars have to do with this process? We had to lean into him a lot for muscle hypetrophy but more in the increased strength realm and less in the aesthetics - Venus was still doing the heavy lifting - no pun intended - when it came to the physiological change. But Mars also aided in the bloodwork and breathwork required for these changes. Mars grand mystery is Blood. It is working through him you provide the fuel for these transformations. His is the raw energy that goes into this process and needs to be incorporated for these experiments to work.

Now regardless of how you feel about ideas like the divine masculine and feminine these were the successes we had with this type of magic. Whether you're trying to get jacked and looksmaxxx or accentuate feminine features you are going to approach Venus for the sculpting of the form and Mars for the fuel that goes into it.

Now I would rather not reveal the absolute direct methodology for these practices - as its kind of proprietary at the moment... However I have spoken enough on the techniques involved in it to hopefully give you some inspiration on how to develop your own methods to achieve the results you are looking for. I think based on what you are looking for from glamour magic (i want to look more masculine and get rid of my acne) your goals are 100% doable utilizing the techniques I have described. But do not reject the goddess' role in the process of molding form, she is your friend here.
