I have just recently heard of the practice of God spousal, a form of practice where a practitioner attempts to make a connection with a deity or entity usually seen as a marriage or being a consort of such, I have heard intimacy can also be attributed towards your God Spouse. I truly have little to no information on this and wanted to see what others thought on this certain practice.

It is certainly possible, though the teenagers on social media have discredited it to a degree, and made productive discourse a bit difficult. The whole topic is rife with broken people desperate for love and attention, as well as power imbalances in favor of the entities. It may be one of highest forms of commitment to an entity, if you're into that sort of thing. Provided of course the entity is interested. This is very, very advanced stuff, best left to folks with 10 years or more of experience with the entity. In my opinion it is never, ever, actually necessary, even if an entity brings it up. I also see it fitting into a religious approach better than a magickal one, though it would still be possible. And no matter what an entity might tell someone, they are never, ever, going to be monogamous with an incarnate human.

It's not my thing, and I doubt it will ever be. When people ask me about it, I usually try to talk them out of it, which may or may not endear me to the entities, and is largely pointless anyhow. People will do as they will.

thank you for your input, I shall learn more and seek other experiences and experience my own.

Basically a good idea hijacked by immature and hysterical internet LARPers, like @Mannimarco mentioned.

Nuns are sometimes referred to as 'brides of Christ'. In Tibetan Buddhism there is the (very advanced) tantric method of deity yoga, and since some buddhas are shown in sexual union with their consorts, you have the (even more advanced) practice of spiritual intercourse (karmamudra). Demonolaters have their patrons which I understand is a lifelong commitment to a certain demon. In a way, every devotional practice that entails an exclusive intimate relationship with an entity could be call 'god spousing'.

On an internet level of seriousness and sincerity, however, madness has been reigning supreme in recent years. We've had a guy with a jinn wife here with whom he allegedly fathered a demon son, and on another forum (which shall not be named), a veritable cesspool of LARPers, even the mods have been known to complain about the explosion of demon marriages and attendant relationship problems aired volubly in public; I suppose it was inevitable that someone should take it to the next level and wed a god instead of a lowly jinn or demon sooner or later.

As in the case of the jinn wife & demon son brouhaha, however, my main objection was and is that such things shouldn't be discussed in public. Even LARPing can lead to tangible results over time (the old 'fake it until you make it' method), and what I know from Tibetan Buddhism, there is the initial generation stage where you first build up the image of the deity by complex visualizations over many months, so 'god spousing' could be seen as the inception of a similar gestation phase. I imagine it as a very delicate (and potentially dangerous) mindgame one plays with oneself where even the slightest tdoubt, criticism o ridicule voiced by others can be detrimental - there is a reason why the 'To keep silent' rule exists. Veneration of and devotion to an entity should be something intimate and private, not something you shout from the rooftops. The very fact that such a buzzword like 'god spousing' has cropped up at all and is now bandied about is worrying. Tibetan lamas would probably call it 'TikTok vanity yoga'.;)

This is literally Secret Rituals of the O.T.O. territory. And, as with anything else in our arena, it can either be employed as tool or toy...with results particular to either approach.

If I recall correctly, there was something written by either Sabazius X or another Frater, sadly about a decade ago- about the merging of Babalon with an almost Marian devotion and union for the devotee/practitioner- like Theosis, and was referred to as a marriage. I do not remember if it was a tract via A

A∴ or whether it was just an essay. The only reason I recall this was because the parallels to Hesychasm were strong in the language for "seeking Union with the Divine."

This post set me off on a quest that led me to new material, so thank you for the impetus. I assume you're not referring to an actual book but to a document. Thus, I happened upon two candidates. One was a brief ritual entitled The Marriage of Lucifer with BABALON. I don't think that it exactly fits the bill. The second was Very interesting, as well as remarkably erudite. Is it perhaps...

Interesting! Though this was not the piece I vaguely recall. I remember the document as more of an essay sent out to others and myself on the O.T.O. mailing list.

There is a book that was used by some OTO affiliated group (I forget the name of that group but the book was called) "Heavenly Bridegrooms" and it was written by Ida Craddock. A former member here started a sort of journal about it:

"God-spousing helpline, how can I be of assistance?"
"Hello, you've got to help me, I think that my divine hubby is cheating on me!"
"Hm… let me guess: is his name 'Zeus', by any chance?"

I'd be interested in reading how to perform a god-spousing according to different traditions, if anyone could share any reading material (beside the ones shared by Jsinclair and Yazata, thank you for that !
