The Stoics, as we all know, were much infatuated with the equality and brotherhood of man. Yet Marcus Auerlius, the school's pin-up boy, expelled the encroaching Marcomanni tribe from Italy c. 170 EV. What gives? Not embracing one's brethren (and sistern, too)?
