Do you record what you expected to happen before a working?
or do you prevent your journal from turning into a collection of post-hoc explanations

I've kept some simple journals. I wrote down the completed rituals, statistics, outcomes. It can be great idea to keep track of stuff.
Dream journals too, helps you recall them better. Why not even divination journals, like let's say tarot, write down what the cards said, how you understood the meanings and then what happened later on.
Most of the time I just write down some statistics, like x mantra read x number of times, some completions, milestones. :unsure:
I prefer to keep it very simple.
