Today is 5 december, traditional the eve of Saint Nicholas in a part of Europe AND the eve of the winter-devil Krampus in another part of Europe. Strangely enough, a lot of European people don't know about Krampus. And it is both a pity and remarkable that a lot of people seem to ignore that devil we have in Europe.

So that is why I share here in this part of the forum some things about the Krampus. He is not only a part of traditions on 5 december, some regions have Krampus traditions later in december. Some people claim pre-Christian origin, but that is debated. Yes, it possible to connect with the spirit of Krampus, did it before the years I was living on my own without my hubby. Was confronting, it mirrors truly back who you are . If you connect, be prepared for that. Corresponding things: animal hairs and horns, fire, black, birch branches, rusty bells, left over ashes from birch, late evening and night, a very strong alcohol beverage as a libation.... Ritual: don't think in a high magick workflow. Think more in terms of intuitive, raw, primordial.

Since I love cosplay, I also love tradition of today, a lot of krampuses outside, along with angels and st. Nicolas. There are three or four public events in our small city alone.
