For the people who have had the chance to have magical mentors, what was the nature of your relationship with them? I've personally never had one and always imagined it to be a godparent/godchild kind of deal. Let me know!

What I refer to as my "Tutelary Spirit" is actually more of a guide than mentor. He appears when there's something I should take note of, or to remind me of something I'm supposed to be doing (usually when I've omitted him in my most recent offerings). He also appears both physically and in dreams to offer comfort and guidance.

If I'm puzzling over something I can usually meditate and call out, and within the next day he'll give me a sign indicating direction, choice, or answer.
