Has anyone read one of these books by Monte Plaisance? I am curious because it is said they are based on PGM, that is why I am interested to know more .
Thanks!

An Academic? Impressive. Thought it makes me wonder if he studies theoretically or if he practices the occult.

Don't take that too seriously. I've combed the site for PGM papers once, and I've also found some cranks, conspiracy nuts, and dubious sorcerers for hire there (CALL THIS NUMBER NOW!!!). I wonder if they have any vetting procedures at all to make sure only genuine scholars can post there.

Good reminder. Even having an university title doesn't mean that the person is whatsoever clever.

From my contact with mr Plaisance his very pragmatic and practically oriented person, his idea is that PGM is pragmatic workbook of magician and the work there is not very different from the old conjure. Although I do agree that PGM is connected very much with the practical magic and even more following actors like Phd. G. Mushev who shows how some of the rites there passed through the generation in the folk magic, one interesting thing is that in PGM there is rite with two black hens in the morning, as a way to be initiated, similar rite is part of Bulgarian folk magical tradition where if a woman want to be a witch she should take two black hens and bath herself with them in certain day. I do think that his very practical approach could simplify some of the rites.
