I am a bit if novice when it comes to Western Esotericism and was wondering, what is the most instantaneous form of magick that is known. Like what type? For examle chaos magick, cermonial, folk magick, etc. I want to practice magick and want to see rather quick results, yet I do not know of all the different types of magick available. If anything if you could recommend a book as well that is like a cookbook with spells with rather swift results as well (if such a thing exists) that would be great too. Im open to all suggestions and information. Thanks!
I think everyone would like to find instant and easy, with guaranteed results. Some people get lucky and find something that works in the beginning, but in my experience, most people struggle a lifetime and get sporadic results at best. Some even dig up an entity they never wanted and struggle to get rid of it.
When you start looking at what is available, you will usually get a feeling about it.
Many things disturb me at a level that can generate a dream related to the subject, because those things bother my core essence, and I trust that. Many other things ring true and feel right, and if my bias is not jumping to conclusions, they turn out to be a good fit. You have to watch the ego and the bias in all projects.
About 20% of people have frequent magickal, spiritual, or "psi" experiences, and fewer than 1% develop these skills to a high, consistent level. A 2017 case-control study searching for individuals with notable psychic talent to participate in research found that
only 0.4% of candidates were suitable. Not that you should stop searching, but it might help to put things into perspective. Many materials in print or on the Internet are simply the delusions of mental health issues, cult nonsense, and profit machines milking the gullible. I call the good stuff rare gems, and we all disagree on what the good stuff is, and what constitutes a gem. Mainly because people are not the same. Energetic structures and abilities of people are not the same. Opinions and attitudes are not the same.
I found my own niche was dreaming, lucid dreaming, shared dreaming, astral projection, and out of body experiences. All of them related to altered states, and none of them connected to anything magickal, or spells, or anything religious or spiritual in the sense of rituals or worship of entities of any kind. So if I were to tell you to try and practice shared dreaming, you would first have to become aware of, and control, your dreams. That may never happen unless you have the proper body chemistry and energetic talent for it. To insist this is the way would be wrong, because not everyone is a dreamer. Some people can contact entities, or speak with the dead, or make working talismans and amulets, or make spells work. But in my opinion, it isn't the spell or anything else doing the actual work, it is the skill and talent of the individual who has found out what works for them.
So, know yourself, and recognize what speaks to you when you see it. Try not to follow wishful thinking or desire, because the genie granting wishes is a rare thing. Speaking a spell and having it work, or mixing up something in a cauldron and getting results, both show a connection beyond the activity itself. If these things speak to you, find that connection, then many things will work.
