I know, I know... joke title based on my username.
Don't expect for me to post too often. These are just ramblings on my own magic studies or personal realizations on magic.
Ramblings on magical will and the soul?
In working with my patron deity, I've come a few conclusions recently. First, will and intent by themselves are terrible methods of manifesting magic into reality. The biggest issue I've observed is how narrow it is. It is heavily altered by perception (which is already heavily altered by the outside world). And second, just because we want something doesn't mean it's the best thing for us.
Second, things like spirit contracts, emotions, correspondences, will and intent, etc... the one thing they have in common is how they interact with our soul. So perhaps in this world, the soul is bridge between the physical realm and the astral realms. The question I have is: would spell manifestation work more effectively when we ask our soul for what it needs, rather than imposing it through divine authority? I don't have a clean answer yet. But it's an idea in progress.
