I’ve read a lot of people having generally positive, mild yet effective experiences with the Olympic Spirits, they seem to be much more approachable and agreeable, if that’s the word, than some other spirits can be. I came across some Gnostics several years ago that told me the Olympic spirits are “”archons”” to trap /enslave humanity. Pfff.I've been working with all of the spirits in the Arbatel since last Wednesday.
For me Bethor was regal, yet quiet with a kind, benevolent aura.
Hagith to me was kind of what you'd expect from Spirit of Venus with a kind gentleness.
Aratron was quiet with a to-the-point discipline, but not unkind; an academic, business-like air; I had success with Aratron before who helped me work towards a 1st class honours degree.
Och was light and high vibrational; years ago he helped diagnose my mum's broken leg when I asked Och to reveal the real reason for her leg pain; almost a week later the hospital phoned to reveal they missed a break through her femur. Och recently sent me a dream highlighting my pitfall in job searching about lowballing myself in salary questions.
Phul was amazing. Very light energy, vibrant yet gentle, but strong, potent energy. Phul, along with Ophiel, the morning after the Ritual helped me avoid a docusign scam.
Phaleg wasn't heavy, fiery or aggressive as I was expecting from Mars. I sensed a General/leader type energy bit a kind encouraging one. It might be that I practice a sword martial art myself that I aligned with him. He helped me along with Ophiel get the drive and energy to start learning coding in my sparetime again. My own sensei was happy with how I performed, and I felt more incontrovertible and stable.
These are just my experiences, though, you might have different experiences

My experience with them has just been with the arbatel, have you found any good materials for interacting with them? I came across a guy on YouTube who combines hoodoo with the Olympic spirits, it was super fascinating. He will, for example, write a petition then place it under a glass candle with for example a geomantic symbol or Olympic spirits sigil, or then he draws with a chalk marker on a ceramic plate or piece of ceramic tile for his workspace. Uses astrological oils, hoodoo condition oils, and incenses. It was very thought provoking and has encouraged me to try some different things.Hi,
I just started working with Bethor and Hagith and I am curious to hear the experiences everyone has had working with the different Olympic spirits.
That's interesting. I've never heard of contacting them outside of the Arbatel. Do you know he experiences them, or how they come across to him?I’ve read a lot of people having generally positive, mild yet effective experiences with the Olympic Spirits, they seem to be much more approachable and agreeable, if that’s the word, than some other spirits can be. I’m super interested in planetary talismans, unfortunately I saw several months after it had passed that we wouldn’t have the time for making a Jupiter talisman (wealth) for like another 12 years, oh boy.
I’ve actually thought about signing up for an astrology course just so I could work my own progressions and time my own planetary rituals.

Hey check your DM, I would post a link but there seems to be an issue here with outside linksThat's interesting. I've never heard of contacting them outside of the Arbatel. Do you know he experiences them, or how they come across to him?
Jupiter enters Cancer this week in Sidereal. Sidereal is more accurate if youre operating off a stellar rays theory, which is the prescription of the astral magic grimoires of the mideval period (you need to be facing the stars and ensouling the talisman with their rays as they cast down to earth). Tropical is a projection to keep the seasons in line - its not the actual position of the planets if you were looking at the sky.I’ve read a lot of people having generally positive, mild yet effective experiences with the Olympic Spirits, they seem to be much more approachable and agreeable, if that’s the word, than some other spirits can be. That sounds really direct and uncomplicated. I have noticed that about the arbatel, it doesn’t have those long drawn out processes like a lot of the other grimoires do. Plus it seems like they’re really tending towards the practical side of things, which seems like it gets a short sell and kinda disparaged as “low magic”, but like your situation, a life altering illness is no joke. These are serious issues we have in our lives that we need help with.I have experience with the Olympic Spirits as part of my practices in planetary magick. At first I was working purely within the traditions/content of the Arbatel proper. I've since opted to call them using the methods outlined in The Master Works of Chaos Magick by Blackthorne, which pares the aphorisms and operations down to something much more concise. Och is the spirit I've worked with most extensively compared to the others, and he has helped me in life-changing ways.
I first met him when I was dealing with a major health issue that several specialists couldn't definitively diagnose. Every doctor I saw only had vague ideas of what may have been wrong, and their treatments ran the gamut from mildly helpful to completely ineffectual.
The evocation was fairly straightforward, conducted on a Sunday within the first hour of the Sun. I performed a banishing and set my correspondences in place ( some sandalwood incense, The Sun tarot card, etc ), then the call while gazing at Och's sigil. This is a summarized version of the ritual as I have it in my journals.
"In the names of Shaddai, Adonai, and Elohim, I call upon you Och, Spirit of the Sun."
No response or reaction for several minutes, then a sudden feeling of warmth around my navel. That quickly spread inwards, into my stomach and back, like a heated blanket wrapped around my torso. I took this to be a sure sign of presence and asked my questions.
"I've been suffering with a disease that no doctor understands. It's one step forward and two steps back since it all started. What is happening to me? And if it is within your power, I ask that you heal me."
Perhaps five minutes or so passed. Och's voice slowly filtered into my head, as someone standing across a busy road, then speaking more clearly as they make their way to you.
Och: "...Not plague...Not pestilence...[ Some things I couldn't make out ]...Imbalance."
"What is out of balance?"
Och: "Your flesh [ separates or suppurates? ] and ruptures. I can soothe... [ He quiets, as if considering something ]
"Thank you, I would be immensely grateful for that." It still feels as if he wants to say something more so I decide to sit quietly for a few minutes.
Och: "The flesh consumes itself. You seek redress [ questioning tone, and I had to look up the word 'redress' afterwards ]...Another who heals waits for you. Find them. The sun will [ show, or shine? ].
This where I felt as if we had reached a 'That is all' point. So I thanked Och and closed the ritual.
"Thank you, Och, for your aid and insights. Go in peace and may the solace of the All lay between us."
To make a very long story of ups and downs and fickle health insurance bureaucracies very short, roughly 3 weeks later I received a call from the office of the very first doctor I met with. It was his lead nurse, informing me that he had been looking back over my case, nearly four months after the fact, and how he decided to forward it to a colleague for their opinion. Why he didn't think to do that 4 months prior, I'll never know...
This lead to me getting in contact with that doctor. Three appointments, some more specialized tests, and an amended diagnosis, I was treated for two auto-immune diseases that were compounding each-other, after nearly four long years of suffering. I've been in remission for some time now, something I never thought possible, and certainly not without Och's help.
I've continued to work very closely with him for health and wellness since. Though Bethor is also said to "Aid in healing the self," per Blackthorne's notes. I've only called on the latter for the typical sphere of Jupiterian matters ( wealth, growth, and abundance ) with what I now consider good results.

The transmission of the Hermetic tradition went from Egypt > Caliphate > Europe via Spain and Byzantium. It never disappeared the Arabs were continuing it and it slowly trickled into Europe during the middle ages before the fall of Toledo and Byzantium opened the flood gates.Interesting to note! Thanks
I remember when I first started looking at those medieval grimoires thinking they were a bunch of illiterate Bedouin gibberish about Hebrew gods and mythology, but as time goes by I’m more and more subscribed to Stephen Skinners theory of them being a continuation of Egyptian and Greek and Byzantine practices
I primarily have been using the Arbatel, though I came across a woman on YouTube who had a few rituals with correspondences concerning the Olympic Spirits. Also The Sworn and Secret Grimoire has a little more information, though its similar to Arbatel.I’ve read a lot of people having generally positive, mild yet effective experiences with the Olympic Spirits, they seem to be much more approachable and agreeable, if that’s the word, than some other spirits can be. was this your first time experiencing clairaudience with spirits? Or with summoning/invoking/evoking an entity? Did/do you give them offerings, gift for a gift principle?
Super awesome post btw, very informative and helpful![]()
I've only done the 2 Evocation's so far (Bethor on Thursday, & Hagith, Friday, both using their 2nd corresponding planetary hour as I couldn't do the first, adding in crystals and candles). I got an energetic response almost instantly and a sense of being answered on both occasions... I am new to the world of Magick, and this was my first go at connecting with any spirit/entity/angel/demon. Its only early days and I feel confident I was heard, so I am somewhat excited to see how things progress.
Hi,Hi,
I just started working with Bethor and Hagith and I am curious to hear the experiences everyone has had working with the different Olympic spirits.
This is a great discussion prompt for anyone interested in planetary magic.Hi,
