What do you guys think? Should I use prayers and rituals from the official church, that are used by the priests only? I own those books. Is it exclusive to them?I Sorry, I am not sure if I should ask this here or in the books section...No admins/moderators here at the moment

If they're meant for the use of priests then some people might view it as iffy, but I have a friend who uses those rituals and he hasn't been randomly struck by lightning or anything. They don't seem to work very well for him, which I mostly chalk up to him not having developed the connection to the process that a priest would typically have. Imo, the most utility will come from analyzing those prayers and rituals, breaking them down to understand their purpose and methods, and then reconstructing them in a way that feels more intuitive to you and more in line with your own techniques.

Can you be a little more specific? For exactly what purposes do you use which books and prayers, and how do you use them? The use of church items for magical purposes, particularly candles and icons, has a long tradition in the world of Orthodox Christianity. Certain prayers naturally go along with this. However, this form of magic relies on specific saints, and each of these saints has their own domain, their own sphere of influence. Often, these saints are Christianized forms of older religious layers. In that sense, through a seemingly Christian ritual, the practitioner essentially establishes contact with these older energies.

I mean those books used in the Liturgy, also for bapthism, weddings, confession... And their specific prayers for specific needs, such as blessing of the salt for example and so on. I use akathists too. For example today is a day dedicated to st Xenia Petrogradska, which governs finding new job and a new appartment.

I use Akathist of st Xenia in order to find a new job. I light a candle, cleanse the room, and read the Akathist. This is my 4th day, 36 days more to go.
