The Ouija board is a fascinating topic—I'm curious to know if it’s genuinely real or just a product of our minds playing tricks. I recently watched a video where people, with their eyes closed, used the Ouija board, and it displayed what appeared to be random letters. I’d love to hear from anyone with real experiences using a Ouija board!

The ouija board in my opinion is a tool that very often brings some lower class trickers around you. Who play around just to get your energy. They fool around and talk nonsense just to keep you using it. For some people it works well, for others not so. Instead of the board some folks make a different board with letters and use a pendulum. My mother was into the use of pendulums like that for almost a decade, until she got bored of it and moved on to tarot instead.

I have used it in the past a few times, out in the forests. I was alone and the board didn't work well, it moved a bit. I felt a lot of energy through the shot glass (constructed the board, used a shot glass). As the next thing during the night some weird looking nature spirit came to me and greeted me. I saw myself in my bed with the thing being next. The area I chose was near a cold water spring.

Friends used the board and nothing good came from it. Something did come, connected with one guy, then it was a hassle to get rid of it. It just kept attracting something weird to it. They ended up burning it. It was a DIY project like mine, constructed and used a shot glass.

That's basically what the Ouija board is.

It’s a curiosity when you’re a teenager, however, if you use it frequently, you tend to open portals for low level entities, which attract shadow people and alien demonic abductions.

It is kind of funny that these boards are sold... in toy stores...? In some countries?
My dad mentioned using a dish plate with something written on it, Maybe yes and no were marked on it, I can't remember what he said.
I didn't use it much anyway and always outside, a few experiments. Friends were more into it. Some weird guy even took it to a cemetery or close to it and something not so nice answered. ... I could be wrong about this but I think for one person things started falling over at home after messing with the board. Like something off the book shelf, then he destroyed it.

I know somebody who used pendulum for many years and nothing weird happened, it just started swinging a lot more.

Yes exactly. This board is definitely one of those weird things, things could go wrong with it.

It's a divination tool. In our old cabal way back we used to draw alphabet boards and use a small French expresso glass over them to talk to angels and shit with full ritual discipline. xD

Any value or affinity specifics are down to the context through which you approach the ritual. Calling it a ouija board and pulling in the messy egregoric complex of Stranger Things, teenage sleepovers and The Exorcist won't attract anything useful. Asking "is anyone here" without any summoning or intentional contact ritual is exactly like what @Robert Ramsay said.

tl;dr Nothing wrong with alphabet boards per se.

The bottom line is that you can't generally talk with the dead on demand. Certainly not that easily. With those kinds of toys its either just random letters or something that falsely thinks or wants you to think they're the dead person you're trying to contact.

Spirit boards do work, but you’d be wise to call on a specific spirit you wish to work with and call them into it before you actually try to communicate. Otherwise you’ll probably just get some random spirit who is bored.

This goes with pretty much any method of spirit communication, too, by the way. If you’re just using a pendulum without consecrating it first you have no idea who you’re talking to.

That whole late 19th century spiritualist scene has some BS, so always a grain of salt. But I have gotten incredible results from automatic writing, another technique from that time. It’s like the second you remove your will from the writing process, something else takes over, and it can be amazing. In my case that something seemed to know, years earlier, the exact circumstances of my life the day I would reopen the journal and study the automatic writing I did. Wow!
So my guess is if all can get in the same kind of state, where no act of conscious will is moving the Oija pointer, you can channel some real things. But like anything in magick, you are the channel, there’s no magick actually in the board.

I remember first experimenting with a Ouija board in High School back in 1987, and it told me and a friend that there was a stone underneath a local restaurant that could teleport us to other places in the world. My friend and I thought about digging up the floor, B&E, the whole thing! That being said, many years later, I use both the board and automatic writing to communicate with Others, but these are specific entities who already made contact with me and simply use the physical media on occasion for easier and clearer communication. So that being said, as ChaoBell just said, the magick is within you, and the board/pen are just a form of communication, and I should add, exercise both caution and common sense with messages, don't go digging up restaurant dining rooms looking for mythical teleporters, lol!

My personal experience is that they do not work. I've used them several times over the years, in a variety of places - some of them very haunted and "active" during investigations - and never gotten so much as a twitch of the planchette.

They're sold as a toy (and the Ouija name is currently owned by Hasbro), and that's essentially what it is.

Yes, I know how you're supposed to use them; I've tested them with groups and individually (as someone on Reddit once recommended when I told them I didn't believe spirit boards worked).

Personally i see the Ouija Board more as a toy than a real tool. And what @Rooney said is true, Ouija is literally owned by Hasbro, they sell it as a board game for ages 8+
But in the end almost anything can work as a tool, if you use it as a tool. So who knows maybe it´s just the ideomotor effect, your subconscious, or actually some lower spirit trying to get a bit of energy from you.
